Echinacea shows promise for tonsillitis
Efficacy of complex herbal compound of Echinacea angustifolia (Imoviral® Junior) in recurrent upper respiratory tract infections during pediatric age: preliminary results.
We explored the potential benefits of a special herbal compound that includes Echinacea angustifolia in treating recurrent upper respiratory infections, specifically tonsillitis, in children. This study involved 37 young patients who were suffering from frequent pharyngotonsillitis or otitis media.
The treatment, known as Imoviral® Junior, combines Echinacea with other ingredients like beta-glucan, vitamin C, arabinogalactan, and zinc. Over a six-month period, we observed a significant reduction in the mean number of inflammatory episodes from an average of 3 to just 1.
By the end of the treatment, a notable 77% of children reported fewer episodes of inflammation. Additionally, the overall quality of life score improved significantly, showing promising results. Importantly, no side effects were recorded during the study, suggesting that this herbal compound could be a safe option for enhancing pediatric health during recurrent infections.

Solgar's zinc is now a staple in my purchases. It doesn’t cause nausea or bloating and is best taken at night, 1-1.5 hours after meals. It significantly aids in healing mucous membranes, helping with erosive and ulcerative lesions as well as recurrent tonsillitis. I take zinc before important events as it clears my skin and reduces acne and inflammation. The tablets are tiny and dissolve quickly. The supplement is alright, but the dosage is high for me. I prefer zinc glycinate with pumpkin seed oil. I take zinc in winter to reduce skin inflammation and the frequency of tonsillitis exacerbations. For the second year, I've avoided antibiotics during flare-ups.

We aimed to understand the link between vitamin D deficiency and recurrent acute tonsillitis in children. In our study, we gathered data from 242 children suffering from repeated bouts of tonsillitis and compared it with a control group of 262 healthy children.
Our findings revealed that the average vitamin D levels were significantly lower in those with recurrent tonsillitis. I paid close attention! I drank the whole jar last winter and, for the entire season from autumn to spring, I didn't experience a single cold or serious illness. The best! This stuff is potent. If I am unwell, I take a double or even triple dose until my symptoms improve. Oil of oregano has aided my recovery from tonsillitis, urinary tract infections, and food poisoning. During an epidemic, I would rely on oil of oregano alongside raw garlic, olive leaf extract, and high doses of vitamin C.

Since March 2020, I explored iHerb and found elderberry extract, particularly for my daughter's chronic tonsillitis. I combined it with echinacea and vitamin C when she showed signs of a cold. To my amazement, the illness did not progress for the first time in years. We avoided antibiotics, which were usual during her illnesses. I had not heard of elderberry before, but after reading the reviews, I decided to try it and have no regrets! My daughter suffered from follicular tonsillitis, which had previously been quite severe. When she fell ill again, an antibiotic was prescribed immediately, as usual, and I decided to add elderberry to her treatment. The fever lasted only one evening, whereas it typically extended for up to four days. It rose at night but then reduced on its own without any antipyretics. This is a fantastic option for throat and nose issues. I have chronic rhinitis and tonsillitis, constantly visiting the ENT. I chanced upon this drug on Ayherbe and decided to try it. I take one capsule three times daily with food. After about two weeks, I noticed results; the ENT has not been needed for three months. So judge for yourself whether the drug is effective!
