We investigated the potential of lactoferrin, a powerful natural compound, to inhibit herpes simplex viruses, specifically HSV-2. Our approach involved testing silver and gold nanoparticles modified with lactoferrin, known as LF-Ag/AuNPs, to see if they could serve as novel treatments or microbicides for genital herpes.
In our experiments with human skin and vaginal cells, we observed that LF-Ag/AuNPs were much more effective than lactoferrin on its own at preventing the virus from attaching to and entering cells. Notably, when we pretreated cells with LF-AgNPs, they were better protected from infection.
In tests with infected mice, those treated with LF-Ag/AuNPs had significantly lower virus levels in vaginal tissues and spinal cords compared to those treated with just lactoferrin. The immune response appeared to be enhanced too, as evidenced by increased counts of specific immune cells.
Overall, our findings suggest that LF-Ag/AuNPs not only fight the virus but may also boost immune function, highlighting their potential as effective new antiviral treatments targeting mucosal surfaces.

My cat suffers from the herpes virus, experiencing keratitis up to three times a year. Since I started using this product, the frequency has decreased markedly, and her recovery is much quicker. I've realised it's beneficial for cats, and I'm pleased to share this information. For dosage, mixing half a capsule with food twice a week is sufficient.

However, it doesn’t help shorten the duration of active lesions once they appear. Despite popular beliefs around diet's role in such conditions, we observed that high-quality evidence supporting dietary changes for other skin issues like rosacea is lacking. Additionally, certain vitamins and minerals showed promise in treating conditions like hidradenitis suppurativa.

Super thing! I only take them when I feel unwell, usually two capsules at once. Although often exposed to sick individuals, I’ve never fallen ill. Recently, I took a shock dose when I noticed herpes on my lip. Two blisters had appeared, but by morning, they were gone! What a relief, as neither acyclovir nor valacyclovir have worked for me. I also applied zinc paste on my lip, which may benefit others suffering from herpes during times of reduced immunity.

This is the best vitamin C I’ve tried on iHerb. It’s the most effective one! Taking it 3-4 times a day during illness speeds recovery. At the first signs of a cold (and even with herpes), symptoms don’t escalate, and herpes subsides after itching without developing rashes.

Miracle oil! We have long wanted to buy tea tree oil without alcohol. It’s a fantastic remedy for herpes on the lips, superior to acyclovir. Just remember not to lose faith after the first day! Consistent application leads to a visible reduction on the second day, when the herpes rash noticeably decreases and dries out. I also found it useful for foot fungus and peeling, although I haven't yet seen significant antiviral action.

An excellent tool! I use it for children with nozzles, applying it under the nose. At night, I add 5 drops to the aroma lamp. It's a superb remedy for viruses. I apply it to herpes every 2-3 hours, and it disappears without needing pills! Health to you 👍
