Our research explored the effects of a new calcium-loaded complex, made from Antarctic krill protein and enriched with pectin, on calcium absorption and bone health in mice with calcium deficiency. For many years, my bone scans indicated I had osteopenia, a precursor to osteoporosis. I researched how calcium enters the bones and discovered that large doses of powdered marble or oyster shell don’t necessarily increase bone mass.
