Acetyl-l-carnitine ineffective for migraines
We conducted a robust study comparing acetyl-l-carnitine to a placebo for preventing migraines.

In a triple-blind, crossover design, 72 participants aged 18-65 received either the treatment or placebo for 12 weeks.

Unfortunately, our findings showed no significant differences in headache days between the two groups, meaning acetyl-l-carnitine did not prove effective as a preventive measure for migraines.
We looked into how various metabolic factors relate to migraines in patients with patent foramen ovale (PFO). Our study involved 11 PFO patients undergoing surgery and 11 healthy controls.

We found notable differences in certain metabolites like acetylcarnitine and dopamine between the groups. After the surgery, PFO patients experienced significant reductions in headache frequency and severity.

However, while their headaches improved, other migraine symptoms didn't change significantly. Overall, the surgery showed promise in alleviating migraines associated with PFO.

Migraine relief
Excellent product; I'm very pleased with my purchase. These capsules are easy to swallow without tasting them. Previously, I used a brand with large, chalky, and odorous pills. While these capsules do have a slight smell, you can take them before noticing it, and they are far less pungent than the last brand. NAC has numerous health benefits (look up NAC and glycine!), but the most significant for me is its apparent elimination of my near migraine-level headaches. Good packaging.

We frequently host the entire family. Acetyl-L-Carnitine is the best form for absorption. A teenager with disabilities and migraines takes this supplement along with a basic protocol, and the improvements are noticeable over the year.

Energy boost
The product is okay for me, although it does trigger migraines. On the positive side, it provides energy, as many reviews suggest. When I'm utterly drained, the pill is quite helpful. However, I can only take it every two days; if I take it daily, I end up with a strong migraine. I've experimented with different methods of taking it because I appreciate the effect of the medication, yet the migraines persist.
