Silymarin (milk thistle extract) effectively cleanses the liver and positively impacts skin quality. After two weeks, the heaviness in my liver area and morning bitterness disappeared. An ultrasound prior to use is advisable to check for gallbladder stones. In addition to milk thistle, it contains turmeric, which aids bile removal and supports liver function. I was so excited after reading all the reviews, but I became horribly bloated, dizzy, and experienced heartburn. A girl at the health store mentioned that ox bile often lowers blood pressure after gallbladder removal. It felt like it was eating a hole in my stomach. The enzymes caused bloating and discomfort. For those of us with IBS or food allergies, enzymes may worsen symptoms, which was certainly true for me. In the end, it went straight in the bin.
