Lowers cholesterol effectively

Best niacin. I have used this several times over the past 10 years to help lower cholesterol naturally, and it works! No flushing or stomach upset. This great product was recommended by my GP, as I don’t react well to pharmaceuticals. My levels dropped from 288 to 215 after finishing a bottle. Love it!

Effective cholesterol management

Works great to lower cholesterol. I take one tablet each morning and have seen a significant improvement in my cholesterol levels over three years. Initially, my doctor suggested medication, but I opted for this supplement instead. After monitoring, I've moved back into the “good” range. I occasionally experience short bursts of flushing, particularly with dairy at breakfast.

THIS NIACIN IS FANTASTIC! I’ve purchased it twice because it works. After starting with a cholesterol reading of 287, I dropped to 218 in about two months. This brand has not caused any flushing or side effects for me, and all previous purchases from Doctor's Best have been of good quality.

Doctor's Best is the best for me! Research shows niacin performs 79% better than statins without major side effects, aside from flushing. I've used it for a week with no flushing, likely due to its time-release formulation. I will continue using it and monitor my cholesterol in six months.

Real niacin works
7 people found this helpful
Real niacin, not the flush-free kind, makes a considerable difference! My cardiologist was sceptical about supplements but acknowledged that real niacin is beneficial. After switching from a cholesterol drug, I saw my LDL drop significantly with no dietary changes. The cost is reasonable, and I’ve had minimal side effects.

This does flush! This isn't flush-free - I experience a definite flush from it, sometimes rather pronounced.

Flushing appreciated

I have been using Doctor's Best Niacin for years. This is niacin in the form of nicotinic acid, not nicotinamide, which may cause a flush. I use it for personal blood cholesterol reasons, so I appreciate the flush, and it is effective for me. However, I'm not suggesting you use it for the same purpose without consulting your physician first.

Severe flushing experienced

Unfortunately, this product caused serious flushing that persisted for days! I was taking immediate release niacin up to 250mg and never felt anything. This particular niacin caused tingling and flushing all over my body, especially on my scalp. I initially thought it was an allergy to food since I didn't associate the sustained release niacin with those symptoms. It was supposed to be a slow release with low dosages that shouldn't induce flushing, especially as I had tolerated immediate release well. I underwent various tests, suspecting other health issues. I would not recommend this product after such a negative experience.

I take this for energy and folic acid. It seems to provide the effects and potency as advertised. I haven't noticed any aftertastes or facial flushing.
