Evening primrose oil shows promise
We conducted a double-blinded, placebo-controlled trial to assess evening primrose oil's effects on psychological symptoms in postmenopausal women. Participants received either 1,000 mg of evening primrose oil or a placebo for 8 weeks.

Our findings indicated a significant reduction in psychological symptoms among those taking evening primrose oil compared to the placebo group. Specifically, the intervention group showed a notable improvement in their scores.

While promising, we recognize that further research is needed to fully validate these benefits and ensure the long-term safety of evening primrose oil in clinical practice.

Evening primrose oil shows no advantage
We explored the effects of evening primrose oil (EPO) and fennel on menopausal symptoms and hormone levels, using a triple-blinded method with 125 participants over 8 weeks.

While both EPO and fennel showed significant changes in hormone levels compared to a placebo, the impact on psychological menopausal symptoms was not notably different between the two groups after treatment.

In the end, neither oil proved to be more effective than the other for alleviating menopause-related issues.

The primary benefit of evening primrose seed oil is its rare gamma-linolenic acid, vital for polyunsaturated fatty acids. This oil, rich in various acids, aids in disease prevention and bodily restoration. GLA generates beneficial prostaglandins which reduce inflammation and ensure organ function at a cellular level. Particularly for women, it assists in the smooth muscle function of the uterus and fallopian tubes, making it suitable for endometriosis. It also balances the endocrine system, benefiting weight management by enhancing lipid metabolism. At 47, I'm preparing for menopause with this supplement. It has significantly eased my endometriosis pain, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to all women. Stay healthy and happy!

Evening primrose oil shows limited effectiveness
We explored the effects of evening primrose oil (EPO) as a treatment for menopausal hot flashes through a systematic review of various clinical trials.

While we found that EPO reduced the severity of hot flashes when taken for under six months, it did not significantly impact the frequency or duration compared to a placebo.

Some participants reported mild side effects like nausea and headaches, and EPO did not perform better than black cohosh in longer periods.

Ultimately, the evidence remains inconclusive regarding EPO's effectiveness for hot flashes, highlighting the need for further studies.

We assessed how evening primrose oil (EPO) and black cohosh impact menopausal hot flashes in a study with 80 postmenopausal women. Participants were divided into two groups, with one taking EPO and the other black cohosh for 8 weeks.

While both supplements improved hot flash severity and quality of life, the results showed that black cohosh was more effective. It significantly reduced both the severity and number of hot flashes, whereas EPO only improved severity without a change in the number of flashes.
