Not pregnant, but eventually want to be!
While I'm not pregnant, I am taking these somewhat as a multivitamin. After having a surprise pregnancy and then suffering a miscarriage, it made me realize that I might not have had the nutrients I needed to support a pregnancy. Of course, more likely, it was just an chromosomal abnormality, but try telling that to anxiety and grief. Taking these gives me peace of mind, plus many people say that it's best to start prenatals a few months before trying to conceive (most say 3 months, some even say 3-6 months…but if you haven't, no worries, I have friends who didn't take prenatals until around 10 weeks and had healthy babies!). I like these because they are all organic and naturally-sourced, and the iron doesn't hurt my stomach! I just make sure to add DHA to my regimen because this does not include it. However, I do need to make sure to eat it with a bit of food or else it will make me nauseous. The pills are large, make no mistake, and the taste isn't great. I always take a big sip of water, tilt my head back, put the pill in my mouth and let it fall to the bag of my tongue, and then look down before swallowing. This seems to help minimize the taste since there are less taste buds at the back of the tongue. The one negative I've experienced is an increase of Acne (the reason I took off a star). This might be because I'm not pregnant, so perhaps my fault, but I hardly ever have Acne except for a few spots while PMSing, but I'm experiencing Acne like when I was a teen! I'm still deciding if it's worth it to continue taking these as a multivitamin, and am debating the switch to Garden of Life's women multivitamin (which has most of the ingredients in here, but in differing quantities). As far as prenatals go, I don't think you can beat the quality and price of these! I mean, $14-17 a month? Some prenatals are $50-75
