Targeted probiotic shows promise
We explored the effectiveness of a specially engineered probiotic yeast, Saccharomyces boulardii, aimed at treating colitis. By cleverly binding this probiotic to proteins in the gut, we managed to significantly extend its stay in the gastrointestinal tract. This allowed us to observe a noteworthy increase in probiotic levels in the colon.

Importantly, our findings showed improvements in critical health markers, such as colon length and inflammation scores. This innovative approach suggests that targeted probiotics could be a game changer in managing inflammatory bowel diseases.

Saccharomyces boulardii reduces colitis cancer
We examined how Saccharomyces boulardii impacts ulcerative colitis and its related cancer development in mice. In this study, mice underwent a specific treatment to create a model of ulcerative colitis, followed by 12 weeks of S. boulardii treatment.

The results showed a significant reduction in tumor development as well as lower levels of inflammatory markers, TNF-α and IL-6. Additionally, S. boulardii positively influenced the composition of intestinal bacteria. Overall, the findings suggest that saccharomyces boulardii may have protective effects against colitis-related cancer.

Saccharomyces boulardii's effects on colitis
We investigated whether Saccharomyces boulardii could protect mice from experimental colitis. Over three weeks, treated mice showed less weight loss, reduced colon damage, and improved gut barrier function compared to untreated ones.

By promoting beneficial bacteria and reducing harmful ones, it enhanced microbial diversity and transformed the gut's metabolite profile. These beneficial changes correlated with lower inflammation, suggesting that S. boulardii might be a promising treatment option for colitis based on its effects on gut health.

Avoided surgery

This product has saved me from colon surgery. I have tried numerous probiotics for my ulcerative colitis, but this is the only one that has genuinely helped. Before using it, I was advised to have my colon removed. Now, after almost two months of taking it, I am observing positive results. Be aware that this product is quite strong; I had to gradually work up to 12 capsules a day and experienced a few minor issues along the way. However, I am now reaping the benefits.

Works wonders for UC

My husband has suffered from ulcerative colitis for many years. After his first serious flare-up, I purchased this along with AMP (Aloe Molocure). After over a year of use, he achieved remission for five years until the issue recurred. Recognising that stress and diet can trigger UC, I bought this product again, and as usual, it works wonders for him. It’s one of the most comprehensive probiotics available, though it is a bit pricey.

Probiotic shows anti-inflammatory efficacy
We explored the potential of Saccharomyces boulardii, a probiotic, to ease gut inflammation. This study developed a unique system that displayed specific anti-inflammatory proteins on the probiotic. By optimizing these proteins' expression, the engineered S. boulardii samples were tested on a colitis mouse model.

The results indicated a notably lower disease activity and a reduction in inflammation markers, suggesting that this innovative approach could be effective in improving intestinal health. Overall, our findings highlight the probiotic's promise in managing inflammatory conditions.

Saccharomyces boulardii as a postbiotic
We explored the impact of Saccharomyces boulardii on colitis, aiming to understand its potential benefits for gut health. Our findings revealed that an oral dose of S. boulardii supernatant helped ease intestinal inflammation and reinforced the gut barrier.

A key player in this process is thioredoxin (Trx), a protein that activated important pathways to reduce inflammation and oxidative stress. By promoting the activation of the epidermal growth factor receptor, Trx showed promise as a new postbiotic treatment for colitis.

However, while these results are encouraging, more research is needed to fully comprehend its long-term effects.

Heat-killed Saccharomyces boulardii benefits UC
This study delved into the effects of heat-killed Saccharomyces boulardii on ulcerative colitis, aiming to uncover its potential as a treatment option. We observed that this treatment significantly restored body weight, reduced inflammation, and improved gut barrier function in mice with colitis. It also effectively modulated gut microbiota, outperforming other treatments like β-glucan.

Overall, heat-killed Saccharomyces boulardii presents a promising new approach for those suffering from ulcerative colitis, enhancing their quality of life.

Saccharomyces boulardii aids colitis treatment
We investigated how Saccharomyces boulardii supernatant (SbS) could help alleviate ulcerative colitis (UC) using a murine model. By examining the FXR-NLRP3 signaling pathway, we found that SbS activates FXR and suppresses the NLRP3 inflammasome, reducing macrophage pyroptosis.

Our results indicated that SbS significantly improved symptoms of colitis, making it a promising treatment approach.

Saccharomyces boulardii: Limited cancer reduction
We examined the effects of an engineered probiotic, Saccharomyces boulardii, on colitis-related cancer in a specific mouse model. Over 18 weeks, mice received either the modified probiotic, standard S. boulardii, or a placebo.

While the engineered strain showed promise in binding to inflamed tissue, it ultimately did not significantly lower cancer development linked to colitis. Our findings suggest that more enhancements are necessary to fully unlock its potential against tumorigenesis.
