Lactobacillus salivarius effectively reduces yeast
In Vitro Probiotic Properties of Lactobacillus salivarius MG242 Isolated from Human Vagina.
High relevance for probiotic treatments
We investigated whether Lactobacillus salivarius MG242 can help fight vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC), a common yeast infection caused by Candida albicans. According to our findings, this particular strain successfully inhibited the growth of C. albicans by an impressive 99.99%.

This significant reduction in yeast growth suggests that L. salivarius MG242 holds promise as a potential probiotic treatment for VVC. Moreover, we found ways to enhance its stability and shelf-life, making it a candidate for future formulations.

L. acidophilus inhibits C. albicans
Lactobacillus acidophilus ATCC 4356 inhibits biofilm formation by C. albicans and attenuates the experimental candidiasis in Galleria mellonella.
Relevant support for probiotics
We explored how Lactobacillus acidophilus ATCC 4356 impacts yeast infections caused by Candida albicans. The study used both in vitro and in vivo models, with tests on biofilm formation and filamentation in lab settings and survival analysis in Galleria mellonella larvae.

Our findings revealed that L. acidophilus was effective in inhibiting C. albicans biofilm and filament formation in vitro. Additionally, the injections into infected larvae significantly improved their survival rates and reduced yeast counts compared to a control group. Overall, L. acidophilus demonstrated promising protective effects against yeast infections.

Lactobacillus rhamnosus shows promise
Lactobacillus rhamnosus intake can prevent the development of Candidiasis.
Relevant study on infection prevention
This study examined how Lactobacillus rhamnosus could impact the development of yeast infections, specifically candidiasis. By using immunosuppressed mice, we created various groups to see if taking this probiotic before or during Candida exposure made a difference.

The results were promising: the group that took the probiotic 14 days beforehand showed significantly lower levels of Candida. We also noted reduced inflammation in tissues from these mice. While some cytokine levels were lower across the board, the differences weren't statistically significant. Overall, lactobacillus rhamnosus appears to be a potentially effective preventive measure against yeast infections.

No yeast infections
Life saver! This is the best probiotic I have ever used! After surgery and complications, I was on a high dose of antibiotics for nearly four weeks. I began taking this probiotic just after my antibiotics and before bed, four times a day. Previously, I developed terrible yeast infections while on antibiotics, but this time I’ve had none at all. I believe it has helped to combat bad bacteria in my gut and is boosting my immune system. I'm so thankful for this amazing product!

Life-changing probiotic
Favourite Probiotic. I have had chronic yeast infections for years and came highly recommended to this product. I’ve adhered to it since 2011. It's beneficial for gut health and good bacteria. Although the taste could be improved, I’ve found a better method for swallowing, which has made it much easier. I take one capsule before bed each night, and I love them!

Lactobacillus rhamnosus shows promise
Identification of sulfur components enhancing the anti-Candida effect of Lactobacillus rhamnosus Lcr35.
High relevance to yeast infections
We investigated how Lactobacillus rhamnosus Lcr35, contained in the GYNOPHILUS product, can combat yeast infections like Candida. This study showed that the product’s formulation, enhanced by sodium thiosulfate, improves its ability to kill yeast cells.

Remarkably, after 48 hours of co-culturing, the yeast’s viability dropped to zero. The presence of odor-active sulfur compounds, specifically S-methyl thioacetate, was linked to this antifungal effect.

Interestingly, achieving the full antifungal impact relies on these sulfur components.

Lactobacillus improves vaginal health
Effect of ultra-low-dose estriol and lactobacilli vaginal tablets (Gynoflor®) on inflammatory and infectious markers of the vaginal ecosystem in postmenopausal women with breast cancer on aromatase inhibitors.
Study relevant to postmenopausal women
We examined how a combination of ultra-low-dose estriol and lactobacilli affects vaginal health in postmenopausal women dealing with severe atrophic vaginitis while on aromatase inhibitors. Over 28 days, 16 breast cancer survivors used Gynoflor®, improving their vaginal flora. Remarkably, the lactobacillary grades increased significantly, alongside reductions in inflammatory markers like leukocytes and parabasal cells.

Although we observed a temporary spike in Candida colonization, it quickly returned to normal levels. Overall, these findings suggest that this treatment can effectively enhance vaginal health while being safe for women facing similar challenges.

Lactobacillus rhamnosus shows promise
Anticandidal Activity of Various Probiotic Lactobacillus Strains and Their Efficacy Enhanced by Prebiotic Supplementation.
High relevance for Candida treatment.
We examined the effectiveness of various Lactobacillus strains, particularly Lactobacillus rhamnosus, against yeast infections caused by Candida. Through our analysis, we found that live probiotic cells and their cell-free supernatants showed strong anticandidal activity.

Notably, L. rhamnosus SD11 was especially effective, particularly when supplemented with prebiotics like mangosteen, leading to improved growth and metabolic activity. This suggests that combining probiotics and prebiotics might be a promising alternative treatment for Candida infections.

Cured recurrent infections
Great for gut health. After years of using these probiotics, I believe they have cured my recurrent yeast infections and helped me avoid the "stomach bug". Despite exposure from my kids and husband, I haven’t had it for years.

Fewer yeast infections
High quality and worth the price. I've been using the Garden of Life Primal Defense Ultra probiotic for several years and I'm quite pleased with the results. It has improved my digestion and reduced stomach upset. I used to be sensitive to yeast and experienced frequent yeast infections. Now, by taking one daily, I rarely get them. I typically take one before breakfast and one before lunch, and if I plan to indulge in yeasty foods, I take a third dose before dinner.
