We explored the effects of Lactobacillus species on bile-induced DNA damage in esophageal cells, which occurs during gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). By exposing these bacteria to a bile-rich environment, we found they could survive and interact beneficially with injured cells.

Notably, adding Lactobacillus after bile injury boosted the repair of DNA damage and lessened inflammation. This suggests that these probiotics could play a role in protecting against long-term complications of GERD, like Barrett's esophagus and esophageal cancer.

Probiotic supplement alleviates GERD symptoms
We investigated the impact of a dietary supplement containing lactobacillus acidophilus, bioactive peptides, and vitamins on individuals with mild-to-moderate gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Conducted as a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study, we followed fifty-six adults over 28 days.

Participants reported a significant reduction in heartburn frequency and severity with the active supplement compared to the placebo. They also noted a decreased reliance on over-the-counter medications and improved quality of life. Overall, this supplement appears to bring meaningful relief to those struggling with GERD symptoms.

We aimed to understand how Vitamin C could help with the toxicity caused by omeprazole, a common treatment for conditions like gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and gastritis. During our study, we examined gastric cells from rabbits to see how Vitamin C, alongside other antioxidants, could protect these cells from damage caused by omeprazole.

We found that both omeprazole and another thiol-oxidant, monochloramine, significantly reduced cell viability. Interestingly, the toxicity from omeprazole occurred independently from monochloramine. However, we observed that using Vitamin C effectively protected the gastric cells from this injury, maintaining their function without interfering with omeprazole's intended effects.

This suggests that incorporating Vitamin C into treatment plans for people using proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) like omeprazole could be beneficial. Ultimately, our research highlights the potential of using antioxidants to mitigate the adverse effects often associated with medication for reflux and related conditions.

I believe that more greens are better, and Perfect Food makes it easy to consume high-quality greens. I take 3-5 tablets daily alongside a generally healthful diet, and I genuinely feel it's made a difference. I seldom have the reflux symptoms I experienced daily and no longer take medication for it, attributing this to the enzymes and micronutrients found in these greens. At 51, I realise I must take care of my body.

Reduced reflux pain

This product has been excellent for the whole family. My daughter's acne and inflammation improved significantly, and I have noticed a major enhancement in my digestive issues, particularly my reflux since I started taking it. After working my way up to five tablets a day, I've also experienced relief from menstrual cramps. I first bought the 75 count to try, and after realising its efficacy, I ordered the 300 count. The price is also great!

It's an effective way to consume greens and enzymes. I've been using green supplements for years to assist with digestion and alleviate reflux. I prefer these pills over the powder as they are easier to take. I only need one per day, and they still provide benefits for my digestion.

Probiotic mixture eases constipation, reflux
We aimed to explore the effectiveness of a specific probiotic mixture called Ecologic®Relief in treating constipation among pregnant women. Over four weeks, participants reported significant improvements in their bowel habits, including increased defecation frequency and reduced sensations of obstruction and incomplete evacuation.

Importantly, we noted that the probiotic mixture also seemed to decrease reflux episodes from 60% to 20%. This suggests that not only does Ecologic®Relief help with constipation, but it may also provide relief from reflux symptoms during pregnancy. We believe more extensive studies will be beneficial to confirm these findings.

Bifidobacterium lactis aids reflux recovery
We examined the effects of Bifidobacterium lactis as a complementary treatment for reflux esophagitis (RE) in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study. A total of 110 RE patients received rabeprazole while being supplemented with either Bifidobacterium or a placebo over 8 weeks.

Our findings showed that the probiotic group experienced quicker symptom relief and a longer time before symptoms returned, compared to the placebo. We also noted improvements in gut microbiota diversity following the treatment. Thus, Bifidobacterium lactis appears to provide significant benefits as an adjunct therapy for managing reflux symptoms.
