We examined the effects of a 6-month supplementation of omega 3 and 6, along with antioxidants, on women's hair loss. In this randomized study involving 120 healthy participants, improvements in hair density were objectively measured through photographs.

The results showed significant reductions in hair loss, with 89.9% of women reporting decreased loss and improved hair thickness and density. This suggests omega 3 and 6 can be effective allies against hair loss in women, as confirmed by both objective measurements and personal experiences.

My family always orders this omega, taking two capsules daily. Price and quality align well. Each can lasts a long time and the capsules are easy to swallow. The EPA-DHA balance is commendable, with 400 mg EPA and 200 mg DHA per capsule, totalling 600 mg omega-3. This supplement made my skin more moisturised, eliminated lip dryness, and significantly addressed hair loss, with new hair growth being quite evident.

We dove into the connection between omega-3 fatty acids and stroke risks by analyzing data from 29 global cohorts, involving over 183,000 participants.

Our findings revealed that higher levels of omega-3s, particularly eicosapentaenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acid, are linked to a reduced risk of total and ischemic strokes. Specifically, those with the highest omega-3 levels experienced a 17% lower incidence of total stroke and an 18% reduced risk of ischemic stroke.

However, it's important to note that omega-3 levels showed no impact on hemorrhagic stroke risk.

We examined the impact of omega-3 fatty acids, often found in fish oil, on heart attack risks, particularly in patients with high triglyceride levels. The studies indicate that while omega-3s can effectively lower triglycerides and reduce certain cardiovascular disease outcomes, including fatal heart attacks, their overall benefit remains debated. Despite extensive research demonstrating some positive outcomes, many experts still question the magnitude of their effects on heart attack prevention. Improved guidance on omega-3 supplementation is still evolving as new evidence emerges.

We examined the relationship between docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and osteoporosis using a method called 2-sample Mendelian randomization. This approach allowed us to investigate if higher levels of DHA could be a risk factor for osteoporosis.

Our findings revealed a causal tie: increased blood levels of DHA were indeed linked to a higher risk of developing osteoporosis. Specifically, for each standard deviation increase in DHA levels, the risk for osteoporosis rose by nearly 10%. We found this connection to be statistically significant, with a P-value of 0.033.

However, it's important to point out that the genetic correlation between DHA and osteoporosis was weak, suggesting that this relationship might not be heavily influenced by our genes. While these results indicate that DHA levels are a risk factor for osteoporosis, the underlying mechanisms are still unclear, highlighting the need for further research in this area.

We conducted a double-blind randomized controlled trial to understand how prenatal supplementation of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) might influence infant health, particularly concerning the common cold. Pregnant women were given either a daily dose of 400 mg of DHA or a placebo starting at 18 to 22 weeks of gestation until childbirth.

Caregivers then reported on their infants’ health at 1, 3, and 6 months, sharing details about common illness symptoms. We found that DHA supplementation appeared to reduce the number of colds at one month and also seemed to lessen the duration of various cold symptoms in infants. Specifically, infants in the DHA group experienced fewer cold symptoms and had shorter durations of cough and wheezing.

While the overall occurrence of specific illness symptoms was similar between the DHA and placebo groups, DHA did bring about noteworthy benefits. At 1 month, infants in the DHA group had a 26% shorter duration of cough and 30% shorter wheezing; however, they experienced a longer duration of rash.

Furthermore, by the time the infants reached 3 months, those whose mothers took DHA were ill for 14% less time overall. At 6 months, the DHA group showed significantly reduced durations of several illness indicators, although they did experience longer episodes of vomiting.

This study suggests that prenatal DHA not only seems to impact the occurrence of colds in children but may also play a role in the duration of symptoms over the first half-year of life.

We aimed to see how omega-3 fatty acids from fish oil could ease nausea and other symptoms in patients with advanced lung cancer suffering from Systemic Immune-Metabolic Syndrome (SIMS). The study involved a small group of patients divided into treatment groups, some receiving fish oil and others a combination of fish oil with celecoxib.

After six weeks, we noted improvements in appetite, fatigue, and lower inflammation markers in both fish oil groups. Interestingly, those who received fish oil alongside celecoxib showed even greater benefits in weight gain and muscle strength. These findings suggest that fish oil may help manage certain symptoms associated with nausea but not specifically reduce it alone.

We discovered that a diet enriched with omega-3 fatty acids can effectively reduce symptoms of allergic conjunctivitis (AC) in mice. This reduction occurred without influencing the typical immune responses usually associated with allergies. Instead, omega-3s worked by changing the lipid molecules linked to inflammation.

Notably, these fatty acids completely suppressed itching near the eyes and significantly decreased the presence of eosinophils, cells commonly involved in allergic reactions. However, total serum IgE levels and T2 cytokine expression remained unchanged, suggesting that omega-3s tackle AC symptoms in a unique way.

We explored how eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) might help in treating intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD), a major contributor to back pain. Research highlights that this condition often involves endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress and breakdown of the extracellular matrix (ECM), key processes that worsen IDD. Our investigation demonstrated that EPA can promote autophagy, a process that helps cells clean up and maintain balance within the ECM.

Through our experiments, we treated nucleus pulposus cells—cells in the discs that often suffer from degeneration—with EPA. We observed that EPA not only boosted autophagy but also suppressed the harmful effects of ER stress, reducing cell death and limiting ECM degradation. Additionally, we utilized a rat model of IDD to see if these protective effects translated into a real-world setting. The findings indicated that EPA improved the health of the discs and effectively slowed down the progression of IDD in these rats.

In summary, this research highlights the potential of EPA as a therapeutic option for managing back pain related to disc degeneration. Our results suggest that EPA could play an important role in supporting the health of intervertebral discs and mitigating some of the common issues associated with chronic back pain.

We observed that acne is a common skin condition, particularly affecting individuals under 30. Our exploration into the role of diet revealed that nutrition significantly influences acne development. Among the various dietary components, omega-3 fatty acids stood out due to their potential anti-inflammatory properties.

The research indicates that foods rich in omega-3 can help reduce the production of inflammatory substances that may contribute to acne. Additionally, specific fatty acids, such as docosapentaenoic acid and γ-linolenic acid, have shown promise in improving acne lesions.

By integrating omega-3 into the diet, we might be able to mitigate some of the troublesome symptoms associated with acne. While the evidence is still unfolding, the link between omega-3 fatty acids and reduced acne severity offers a hopeful avenue worth considering for those battling breakouts.

We set out to investigate how hypothyroidism affects cognitive function and whether omega-3 could provide a helpful boost in adult male rats. The study involved thirty rats, split into three groups: one as a control, another experiencing hypothyroidism, and the last group receiving omega-3 treatment.

The findings were quite striking. Rats with induced hypothyroidism showed significant memory problems, including difficulties in spatial learning and retention in various tests. These deficits were accompanied by lower levels of important brain chemicals and noticeable structural damage in the hippocampus, a key area for memory.

However, when we provided omega-3 supplements to one group, there was a remarkable turnaround. Those rats not only saw improvements in their memory but also regained some brain health. Omega-3 helped boost antioxidant levels, lessen structural issues in the brain, and reduce the expression of a protein linked to these damages.

All in all, our research suggests that omega-3 may serve as a protective ally against the cognitive challenges posed by hypothyroidism. This offers an exciting avenue for potential treatments that could benefit not just rats but perhaps humans facing similar hormonal challenges.

We investigated the impact of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) on hypertension, a condition characterized by elevated blood pressure that can lead to serious health issues. The study focused on a special compound called 5,6-diHETE lactone (EPA-L), derived from EPA, which we observed to promote better blood vessel function. This compound was tested on hypertensive rats and showed a significant reduction in blood pressure.

Interestingly, we found that the way EPA-L works isn’t through increasing levels of nitric oxide like some may expect. Instead, we discovered that it triggers a unique signaling pathway involving G-protein-coupled receptors. This pathway activates key cellular processes in the endothelial cells lining our blood vessels, allowing them to relax and dilate, thereby contributing to lower blood pressure. In vitro experiments on human endothelial cells confirmed these findings, providing further evidence for the effectiveness of EPA-L.

Overall, our research positions EPA-L as a promising metabolite from eicosapentaenoic acid, demonstrating potential benefits in managing hypertension and promoting vascular health.

I was prescribed Hard 5 Omega-3 by my cardiologist to help strengthen my heart. I used to take omeganol, but this Omega is much more affordable and lasts a long time. Its composition is far superior! I recommend it highly. I take 2 capsules daily and give my 7-year-old daughter 1 capsule.

We investigated the link between plasma omega-3 levels and the risk of heart failure (HF) in a large UK cohort study. Our analysis revealed that higher omega-3 levels were associated with a 21% lower chance of developing HF over nearly 14 years.

For individuals already diagnosed with HF, elevated omega-3 levels corresponded to about a 50% reduction in the risk of overall and cardiovascular mortality. These results suggest that boosting omega-3 intake through diet or supplements may help prevent HF and increase longevity for those already facing heart challenges.

We explored the effects of omega-3 fatty acids from Clupeonella grimmi fish oil on dysmenorrhoea through a clinical trial involving 36 young women. Participants were split into two groups; one received fish oil while the other received a placebo.

After three months, those taking fish oil reported significantly less pain, with visual analogue scale scores showing a marked improvement. Notably, there was also a reduction in low back and abdominal pain, and less reliance on ibuprofen.

Overall, omega-3 fish oil appears to effectively reduce pelvic pain associated with menstrual cycles.

This is the best Omega-3 supplement I've tried. It contains 600 mg of omega-3 per capsule, which is sufficient for prevention and support. I experienced a significant reduction in joint pain within days of taking 3 g (around 3-4 capsules). I recommend it for anyone dealing with pelvic pain or inflammation.

We investigated the impact of diabetes on the levels of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), an essential omega 3 fatty acid, in the retina of humans and mice. Our findings revealed that diabetic individuals had significantly lower DHA levels—40% less in peripheral regions and 25% less in the macula—compared to those without diabetes.

Additionally, we observed a reduction of retinal thickness and function in diabetic mice. Although there’s potential for dietary DHA to help with diabetic retinopathy, the current study suggests that diabetes is linked to reduced DHA and related retinal defects.

We conducted a comprehensive trial to understand how different types of omega-3 fatty acids affect cholesterol levels and inflammation in adults struggling with high cholesterol.

Over 12 weeks, participants took various doses of omega-3s, including EPA and DHA, revealing notable benefits. Those receiving higher doses of EPA and DHA saw their triglycerides drop significantly—by up to 15.78%—compared to controls.

Interestingly, ALA supplementation did not lead to improvements in cholesterol or inflammation status, highlighting the superior role of EPA and DHA in managing these health issues.

I highly recommend this excellent DHA and EPA composition for brain health. I'm very pleased with the 240 capsules. The price and quality are superb. If you don’t live near the sea, I suggest you and your children take it for at least 9-10 months a year to maintain health.

We analyzed the effects of fish oil lipid emulsion on the prevention of deep vein thrombosis in children with intestinal failure.

In this study, we compared 35 pediatric patients receiving a soy oil lipid emulsion with 35 who received fish oil.

Remarkably, none of the children in the fish oil group experienced blood clots, whereas the soy oil group had ten cases. This suggests that fish oil lipid emulsion may significantly reduce the risk of clots associated with central venous catheters.

A wonderful omega! The capsules are similar in size to most other brands. They have a slight fruity smell. The EPA and DHA composition is excellent, and the dosage of Omega is optimal, being essential for our diet. I recommend a daily dose of 1000 mg to my patients, while for medicinal purposes, it is 2000-3000 mg. For liver restoration or body cleansing, I advise taking Omega with every meal as it alleviates toxicity and enhances gallbladder function, preventing stone formation.
