Lactobacillus improves infant reflux symptoms
We explored the impact of Lactobacillus reuteri NCIMB 30351 on common gastrointestinal issues in infants, focusing on gastroesophageal reflux. Conducted as a randomized and placebo-controlled trial, 90 infants received either the probiotic drops or a placebo for 25 days.

Our findings revealed that the probiotic significantly reduced regurgitation and crying times while increasing bowel movements in infants with constipation. However, it didn't show strong effects on diarrhea. Overall, Lactobacillus reuteri appears to be a safe and effective option for managing reflux and colic in newborns.

Lactobacillus reduces heartburn symptoms
We investigated the impact of heat-killed Lactobacillus No. 1088 on gastroesophageal reflux symptoms in healthy volunteers. In a carefully designed study, 120 participants were randomly assigned to either the Lactobacillus group or placebo for six weeks.

We observed that those taking Lactobacillus experienced significant improvement in heartburn symptoms compared to the placebo group. Overall, it seems that this lactobacillus strain could offer some relief for occasional heartburn in healthy individuals without severe side effects.

Lactobacillus reduces gastrointestinal disorders
We investigated whether giving Lactobacillus reuteri DSM 17938 to newborns in their first three months could help prevent infantile colic, reflux, and constipation. In a well-designed study across nine hospitals in Italy, 589 infants received either the probiotic or a placebo.

Parents documented various health and feeding issues in a diary. The results showed that this probiotic did cut down on daily crying times, regurgitation, and constipation, benefiting both families and healthcare costs.

Jarrow Probiotics are a wonderful remedy for acid reflux and heartburn. I previously took various medications that worsened my stomach issues, but these probiotics were recommended to me, and they have worked flawlessly. I no longer experience any reflux or heartburn and can eat whatever I like without side effects. However, it is essential to take it for a few weeks to notice the benefits, and daily use is necessary for ongoing results. This product is a natural maintenance solution for digestive health.

Coughing relief

Wonderful for acid reflux and IBS. I had severe issues with IBS and acid reflux while on generic Pepcid, which did not alleviate the coughing and choking after eating. This product has stopped all of that. I was on medication for a year and a half that caused bone degeneration, so I needed an alternative. Now, I take one pill on an empty stomach in the morning and another before lunch and bedtime. Thank goodness for this product, which has genuinely improved my situation!

Lactobacillus effectively reduces reflux
This double-blind, randomized controlled trial explored the use of a specialized infant formula with Lactobacillus reuteri DSM 17938 to reduce functional regurgitation (FR) in infants. We found that infants consuming the test formula experienced a significant decrease in regurgitation frequency—from an average of 7.4 to 2.6 regurgitations per day—compared to smaller changes in the control group. Additionally, gastric emptying improved more in the test group, suggesting this combination could offer benefits for managing FR in infants.

Probiotic mixture eases constipation, reflux
We aimed to explore the effectiveness of a specific probiotic mixture called Ecologic®Relief in treating constipation among pregnant women. Over four weeks, participants reported significant improvements in their bowel habits, including increased defecation frequency and reduced sensations of obstruction and incomplete evacuation.

Importantly, we noted that the probiotic mixture also seemed to decrease reflux episodes from 60% to 20%. This suggests that not only does Ecologic®Relief help with constipation, but it may also provide relief from reflux symptoms during pregnancy. We believe more extensive studies will be beneficial to confirm these findings.

Probiotic supplement reduces GERD symptoms
We explored the effects of a dietary supplement containing probiotics, bioactive peptides, and vitamins on heartburn and quality of life in individuals with mild-to-moderate gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). In a well-structured, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study involving 56 adults over 28 days, we noted a significant reduction in heartburn frequency and severity in those taking the supplement compared to the placebo group.

Participants also reported taking fewer over-the-counter medications and recognized improvements in their overall quality of life.

Helpful Aid in Acid Reflux. I suffer from severe acid reflux and can’t eat tomato sauce or most citrus fruits. Since discovering the Jarrow-dophilus probiotic, my situation has greatly improved. While I still suffer from reflux, taking this probiotic 3-4 times a day keeps my symptoms manageable and allows me to enjoy certain foods occasionally without suffering. Within a week, I noticed significant improvements in my digestion. I highly recommend this brand for anyone looking to enhance their overall digestive health.

This brand did not work for me. However, when I tried Dr. Ohhira's, I felt a difference immediately. It's more expensive, but it resolved my IBS and eliminated my reflux and gas completely over three months.

Reduced reflux severity
Great digestive aid. I received this as a free sample, and during the week I took this supplement, I only needed to use an acid reducer once. I have severe acid reflux, which was so bad it burned into my ears. I almost had to stop consuming solid food. I returned and purchased a full package.

Bifidobacterium lactis aids reflux recovery
We examined the effects of Bifidobacterium lactis as a complementary treatment for reflux esophagitis (RE) in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study. A total of 110 RE patients received rabeprazole while being supplemented with either Bifidobacterium or a placebo over 8 weeks.

Our findings showed that the probiotic group experienced quicker symptom relief and a longer time before symptoms returned, compared to the placebo. We also noted improvements in gut microbiota diversity following the treatment. Thus, Bifidobacterium lactis appears to provide significant benefits as an adjunct therapy for managing reflux symptoms.
