Lactobacillus boosts immunity against flu
We explored the impact of heat-killed Lactobacillus gasseri TMC0356 on flu infection in mice. The study showed that mice receiving this treatment had significantly reduced clinical symptoms and lower viral loads compared to controls.

Immune responses, particularly in gut and respiratory areas, were stimulated, leading to increased activity of key immune molecules.

Overall, this suggests that heat-killed lactobacilli could be an effective way to enhance immunity against influenza.

We examined whether oral probiotics, specifically Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG and Lactobacillus gasseri TMC0356, could help protect against influenza in mice.

Over 19 days, these mouse subjects received the probiotics before being infected with the flu virus. Our results revealed that the mice given these lactobacilli showed significantly improved clinical symptoms and lower virus levels in their lungs compared to the control group.

Thus, it appears that these probiotics may offer some level of protection against flu infections through their beneficial interaction with gut immunity.

We examined how feeding mice the probiotic Lactobacillus paracasei might enhance their immune response to the flu. This study revealed that after seven days of Lactobacillus intake, mice showed improved lung health and faster recovery from influenza.

These mice experienced less lung inflammation and had a better ability to clear the virus. Though the gut microbiota didn't significantly change in composition, some beneficial strains increased after flu infection.

Overall, this research indicates that Lactobacillus paracasei could play a helpful role in managing flu symptoms and strengthening immunity.

Kicked a chronic yeast infection! Instead of trying to murder your yeast with antifungals, why not just send it packing with probiotics? I had a stubborn infection for almost four months. My doctor kept asking if I was stressed and wanted to prescribe 7 months of Gynazole-1. I had tried a long list of treatments, including over-the-counter yeast creams and prescription options like Diflucan. Nothing worked. I wish I had known about Femdophilus from the start; it contains the right probiotic strains for vaginal balance. I’ve taken it orally and inserted it vaginally with great success. The relief was almost immediate, and I plan to keep taking it long term. I’ve also discovered another probiotic that can help colonise my gut. I can't wait to try it, as my immunity has improved, and I haven’t been ill even when others around me were.

I'm cured! I rarely leave reviews, but I've suffered long enough. Now that I’ve finally found something that works, I want women across the world to try it too. I had an endless prescription for metronidazole that wasn't effective, and I’m allergic to Diflucan. After about a month on these, I swear I’m cured... no issues whatsoever! I’m so happy, and it has increased my desire for intimacy since there's no more embarrassing odour or side effects from the previous medication.

Year long yeast infection GONE. I have had an ongoing infection for nearly a year, caused by candida glabrata, which is resistant to nearly all medication. My symptoms were unusual, with constant discharge and unbearable pain. I tried every treatment imaginable with little success. To tackle my yeast, I took leftover diflucan, inserted boric acid mixed with fem dophilis probiotics, while adhering to a sugar-free diet. I maintained good hygiene and significant improvements began to show. After two weeks free of strange discharge, I’m confident the infection has resolved. I plan to continue taking probiotics weekly as maintenance, and I’m truly grateful for this product.

Lactobacillus plantarum shows promise
We investigated whether a special strain of Lactobacillus plantarum, modified to express flu virus components, could help protect against bird flu in mice.

Our findings revealed that this treatment significantly boosted immune responses, notably increasing specific antibodies.

Mice vaccinated with the recombinant strains showed notable protection levels against H9N2 and H1N1 viruses, demonstrating up to 80% and 60% protection, respectively.

Overall, these results suggest that recombinant Lactobacillus plantarum could be a promising candidate for oral flu vaccines.

We examined whether probiotics, like Lactobacillus, can help prevent flu and other upper respiratory infections. Our analysis included 23 trials with nearly 7,000 participants of all ages.

Results suggest that probiotics may reduce the chances of getting respiratory infections, lower the number of severe cases, and potentially shorten the duration of illness. They might even decrease the need for antibiotics. However, the benefits may not be as strong as initially thought, and we found that adverse effects were minimal.

Overall, while promising, the evidence is mixed, and more research is needed to fully understand how effective probiotics are against the flu.

Incredible. This product has truly transformed my life. For months, I was plagued with yeast infections and BV which hindered my plans to start a family. After much frustration and research, I changed my diet and began taking a basic acidophilus which was not effective. Eventually, I discovered Fem-dophilus, and it's been fantastic. After just one month, I can now consider trying for a baby! I’m thankful I found an affordable product that helps manage my feminine issues, finally allowing me to regain control over my health.

Stop during flu
1 people found this helpful
Works for others but just not for me. If you're well and taking this as a supplement, everything looks fine. However, it is important to stop taking it temporarily if your immune system is low, such as when you are recovering from the flu. I tried to continue taking it while recovering from the flu, and the sore throat returned. After stopping the supplement, the pain disappeared in 1-2 days. Upon resuming, the soreness returned. I concluded that it should be taken only a few days after illness and when your immune system is at its strongest again.

Lactobacillus yogurt showed no flu benefit
In this randomized controlled trial, we examined how eating yogurt with Lactobacillus OLL1073R-1 affects flu prevention among 961 women healthcare workers. Participants either consumed the yogurt daily for 16 weeks or had no yogurt at all.

We found that both groups experienced similar flu incidence rates, meaning the yogurt didn’t help prevent influenza. However, we did see an increase in certain immune system markers after yogurt consumption.

Overall, this yogurt didn’t significantly reduce flu incidence or enhance immune cell activity, although it had some positive effects on IFN-γ production.

We conducted a thorough examination of synbiotic formulations containing Lactobacillus species to see if they could bolster our defenses against the flu. Over three winter seasons, healthy volunteers participated in a double-blind, placebo-controlled study testing various combinations of probiotics and prebiotics.

While the results suggested that regular intake of these synbiotics might enhance our overall health and lower the frequency and intensity of respiratory illnesses, we found no specific evidence showing a strong effect against flu itself.
