Keeps Hubby out of the ER
I'm going to give this a 5-star review because my husband loves this stuff. He thinks that it tastes good and is easy to drink (i disagree on both points but I buy this for him). You see. He has Diverticulitis. We've had 2 major incidents that landed him in the hospital in the last couple years. The second one caused him to have a bowel resection. He has to be very proactive to um... keep things moving along. This helps him to avoid another hospital stay. He drinks a big glass of this Metamucil product every day. It seems to be working- he also snacks on Fiber One bars. He's had no flareups and very thankfully no hospitalizations in the last year and a half. This product is not for the immediate relief of constipation. It works well to promote regularity when used daily. I try to cook good, real, whole foods, but this extra fiber really seems to help. As for my experiences with the product. I find that it tastes like Tang- and not in a good way. You have to drink it fast, or it congeals into a thick goo. It's hard to swallow in that state. It works for him, I'll stick to ice water. We get this on our subscribe and save order. He goes through about one of jars these a month. It's pretty pricey, but much cheaper than an ER visit and astronomically cheaper than emergency surgery
