Vitamin K2 awareness
82 people found this helpful
Undoubtedly overlooked, pregnant women and newborns face vitamin K2 deficiency risks. Therefore, expectant mothers are often advised to take additional vitamin complexes to mitigate the chance of haemorrhagic issues during childbirth and prevent potential child pathologies. A prolonged acute vitamin K2 deficiency can result in severe repercussions such as extensive internal bleeding and deformities in the musculoskeletal system. The primary cause of vitamin K2 deficiency is an improper diet. Occasionally, deficiencies arise from intestinal issues or diseases like hepatitis or cirrhosis. While vitamin K2 overdose is rare, it can occur with certain medications, leading to increased blood clotting, particularly concerning following a Stroke or heart surgery. I personally consume one capsule of vitamin K2 at dinner for preventive reasons. Given my age and family history of varicose veins, I find this information invaluable.

Essential for absorption
Excellent! If you're taking vitamin D, it's crucial to supplement with K2 for proper absorption, aiding the transport of free calcium to bones instead of blood vessels. This is especially beneficial for individuals at risk of Stroke as well as others who wish to store calcium effectively. Jarrow is a quality brand, as always!
