Pop-up clinics improve flu vaccination
We explored how "pop-up" clinics and live-attenuated influenza vaccine (LAIV) can tackle barriers that college students face regarding flu vaccinations. During the 2023-2024 flu season, we set up five clinics on a midwestern campus, offering LAIV to students.

Of the 337 students who received the vaccine, 129 took a survey about their experience. Nearly half preferred LAIV, and over a quarter indicated they likely wouldn’t have been vaccinated without these clinics.

Overall, our findings suggest that this approach effectively boosts flu vaccination rates among college students.

We examined how the publicly funded influenza vaccine impacted flu cases in Queensland during 2022, comparing it to years past. Utilizing a case-control approach, we found that the influenza season began earlier and had significantly more cases than in previous years.

The vaccine effectiveness (VE) varied by age group, with young children seeing a 61% VE against laboratory-confirmed influenza, while adults over 65 had a lower VE of 24%. Notably, the vaccine was more effective at preventing hospitalizations, showing a 54% effectiveness.

We analyzed various studies on flu vaccines for children, focusing on comparing the intranasal and intramuscular methods. While vaccination is vital for preventing flu, we found no significant differences in effectiveness between the two types of vaccines for children.

However, larger trials hinted that the intranasal vaccine might perform better. Our investigation highlights the need for more child-focused flu vaccination programs, particularly using the nasal vaccine, to enhance coverage and improve outcomes.

Helps with flatulence
Very powerful artefact, the baby sleeps much more peacefully. The ingredients are excellent. The baby has been suffering from flatulence for two months, which began to disappear after the second day. The effect is significantly better than probiotics. The taste is decent. The packaging and gift straws are convenient and of high quality, though I would appreciate an improvement in packaging, such as having the gift straws bottled for better hygiene.

Colic relief

These drops for colic worked very well. There is nothing superfluous in the composition, unlike the well-known "pink bunny". I administered it according to the instructions, and one bottle was sufficient for the entire colic period.

Pediatric vaccination message effectiveness
We conducted an engaging online study involving 1,718 parents to explore how different messaging affects their confidence in vaccinating their kids for COVID-19 and flu. By comparing messages with either an autonomy-confirming or authoritarian tone, we looked at how political beliefs might change responses.

Our findings showed that conservative parents responded positively to supportive messages, particularly for COVID-19 vaccines, which also increased their confidence in flu vaccinations. This highlights the importance of tailored messaging in improving vaccine acceptance among diverse groups.

Promising effects of probiotics
We explored the effectiveness of probiotics in preventing and treating respiratory and dental issues in kids. Our systematic review included 15 studies that showed promising outcomes for three specific probiotic strains: M18, K-12, and 24SMB.

By taking these probiotics, children experienced lower rates of illnesses like flu and acute otitis media. For instance, the M18 strain, when taken as a chewable tablet for three months, helped reduce dental problems, while K-12 cut down on throat infections.

Overall, probiotics proved to be a convenient and cost-effective addition to children’s health care.

Gas reduction
Best Semitecon for increased gas production in my child. I tried numerous Russian Semithecones with little effect, but these drops really helped. The composition is good with nothing extraneous. However, I am deducting a star for the packaging, as using the bottle is quite inconvenient; it's difficult to see where the edge is due to the non-transparent container, and the pipette frequently drops below the product level, resulting in waste.
