We explored the effects of myo-inositol (MYO) on acne among young women diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). The study included 50 participants who underwent treatment with MYO for six months, focusing on its potential to improve the often frustrating skin issues linked to PCOS.

At the beginning and after the treatment period, we measured various factors including levels of hormones and insulin, as well as the severity of acne.

Remarkably, after three months of MYO therapy, we observed significant reductions in hormone levels associated with PCOS, particularly testosterone and insulin. After six months, both hirsutism and acne symptoms showed notable improvement among the participants.

This research highlights MYO as a promising, safe treatment option for alleviating acne symptoms in individuals with PCOS. Its ability to improve metabolic conditions while managing acne is a fascinating development for women seeking effective solutions for their skin concerns.

Myo-inositol improves adult acne
We conducted an open-label clinical study to explore how a peel-off facial mask containing myoinositol and trehalose-loaded liposomes could improve adult female acne (AFA). By applying the mask every other day for 60 days, we examined its effects on acne lesions, sebum production, and overall skin health.

During the study, we measured changes in the number of acne lesions and collected skin biopsy samples to analyze hormone levels and markers of autophagy—a process that helps the skin repair and rejuvenate itself. Our findings showed a significant reduction in various types of acne lesions, as well as a decrease in sebum production.

Notably, we observed a decrease in androgen levels in the skin, which is crucial since higher androgens can exacerbate acne. Additionally, levels of beclin-1, a marker associated with skin autophagy, increased, suggesting that the mask not only improved the appearance of acne but also encouraged healthier skin processes.

Overall, the peel-off mask with myoinositol effectively addresses some underlying factors contributing to acne in women, providing a promising option for those struggling with adult acne.

Effective acne treatment via inositol
We analyzed the effectiveness of myo-inositol supplementation on acne in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). In a retrospective study involving 200 patients over six months, we found that the supplement significantly lowered levels of testosterone and DHEAS, leading to improvements in acne and hirsutism. The supplements not only enhanced clinical symptoms but also positively affected patients' quality of life. Encouragingly, there were no reported side effects, suggesting good compliance among participants. However, more long-term studies are necessary to validate these promising findings.

Effectiveness of Tracnil™ on acne
We explored the effectiveness of Tracnil™, a treatment that combines myo-inositol, folic acid, and vitamin D3, in managing acne for overweight women of menstruation age who display signs of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). While these women had normal hormone levels, many experienced acne along with other symptoms like hirsutism and irregular menstrual cycles.

During our study, we assessed acne improvement through visible lesion counts and evaluated hirsutism using standardized scales. What we found was encouraging—Tracnil™ significantly reduced both inflammatory and non-inflammatory acne lesions within just eight weeks. Furthermore, we observed improvements in hirsutism and the regularization of menstrual cycles among the participants.

It’s worth noting that the treatment didn’t lead to major side effects, indicating that it is safe to use. While we cannot isolate the exact effect of inositol from the overall treatment, it appears to play a key role in modulating skin symptoms in this population, even without significant hormonal imbalances. We believe Tracnil™ could be a first-line option for addressing acne in women with PCOS in a straightforward, practical manner within a dermatologist's office.

Inositol aids acne in PCOS
We embarked on a study to examine the effectiveness of inositol when used alongside metformin for women struggling with acne related to polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Our research involved a randomized trial with two groups: one group received metformin alone, while the other combined metformin with myoinositol and D-chiro-inositol over a six-month period.

After analyzing the results, we observed that the group receiving the combined treatment showed a statistically significant improvement in their acne scores. Notably, the group taking both metformin and inositol experienced better skin outcomes compared to the group on metformin alone. Furthermore, additional metabolic and hormonal improvements were noted in this combined therapy group as well.

However, it’s essential to point out that our study did not isolate the effects of inositol alone on acne. So, while the combination showed promise for improving acne among women with PCOS, we're not claiming that inositol on its own is a guaranteed solution. Further research with a larger sample size and a focus on inositol's individual impact will be crucial for confirming these findings.

Inositol aids acne treatment efficacy
This study aimed to explore the effects of a combination therapy that includes myo-inositol, D-chiro-inositol, and other agents on acne in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Over a 12-week period, we observed significant improvements in acne symptoms not only in obese women but also in those who are lean.

The combination therapy also involved antioxidants and vitamins, creating a holistic approach to managing PCOS. While the focus was on the overall benefits for menstrual health and body weight, the positive effects on acne were quite notable.

Our findings suggest that those suffering from acne due to PCOS may benefit from including inositol in their treatment plan. This study reinforces the idea that a multi-faceted approach to PCOS management can lead to better outcomes in various symptoms, including skin issues like acne.
