In our study, we used a group of sixty rats, half of which were diabetic and received different treatments. Some rats got metformin only, while others received metformin with taurine, cholecalciferol (Vitamin D), or both.

Observations revealed that diabetic rats had serious metabolic issues, including high glucose and fat levels, as well as low antioxidant enzyme activity. However, those treated with metformin combined with taurine and cholecalciferol showed significant improvements. Their metabolic parameters, including insulin levels and islet mass, responded positively to the combined supplements.

The findings suggest that the combination of taurine and metformin may help in controlling diabetes better by reducing inflammation and oxidative stress. This approach could lead to a more effective management strategy for patients struggling with diabetes-related complications.
