We investigated how methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) interacts with bone morphogenetic protein 2 (BMP-2) to potentially enhance the differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) into osteoblasts, which are crucial for bone health. The study revealed that both MSM and BMP-2, when combined, lead to increased levels of certain proteins that aid in this process.

Observing changes in cell structure and mineral deposits helped us see the effectiveness of these treatments. The researchers noted that using MSM alongside BMP-2 significantly boosted the differentiation of MSCs into osteoblasts compared to using either treatment on its own.
