We explored the connection between dietary zinc and vitamin C intake and the severity of COVID-19 symptoms in 250 recovered patients. Our findings suggest that higher consumption of these nutrients is linked to lower odds of severe illness and reduced inflammatory markers.

Specifically, those who consumed more zinc experienced fewer symptoms, including cough and fatigue, and had significantly lower inflammation levels. Similarly, increased vitamin C intake correlated with a decreased risk of cough and other symptoms.

Overall, this study highlights the potential role of nutrition in managing disease severity for COVID-19 patients.

Sodium ascorbate helps cough symptoms
We explored how sodium ascorbate affects cough and bronchial responsiveness in individuals with upper respiratory infections (URI). By studying nine hospital staff members, we measured their cough severity before and after taking 2 grams of sodium ascorbate. We found a notable increase in bronchial responsiveness shortly after treatment, showing that vitamin C can help reduce cough and airway irritability during URIs. However, while some improvements were observed, the long-term benefits weren't significant. This suggests that sodium ascorbate has potential, but further research is needed to clarify its efficacy.

Antioxidants help reduce cough
We explored the effects of dietary antioxidants, specifically vitamins C and E, on cough reflex suppression in guinea pigs subjected to high oxygen levels. After vitamin supplementation for four weeks, these animals were exposed to 100% oxygen, and we measured cough responses induced by citric acid and mechanical stimulation.

Our findings revealed that treatment with antioxidants helped reduce the cough suppression typically caused by hyperoxic conditions. We observed that antioxidant therapy significantly improved cough responses, suggesting a protective effect against oxidative stress-related cough depression.

Best EVER! My daughter suffered from whooping cough at just 5 months old. After consulting with many people, I gave her doses of this product, and the difference was AMAZING! She recovered quickly, and missing even one dose would result in her condition worsening until I administered it again. Highly recommended!

Reduces cough quickly

I appreciate the extra-large packaging of this vitamin C as it lasts long. This ascorbate form is gentle on the kidneys. My family consumes it, and I noticed that coughs and colds resolve quickly, with fewer complications. My child, despite having atopic dermatitis, has had no allergic reactions. I take a higher dose myself without issues. The only downside is that I found an alternative recommended by Katya Chi, which offers a buffered ascorbate at a lower cost.

We take it as a family at the first sign of ARVI. It feels like coughing becomes easier afterward. The only issue is that dosing can be tricky since it comes in powder form. The taste is decent, not sour.
