Probiotics and prebiotics against yeast
Anticandidal Activity of Various Probiotic Lactobacillus Strains and Their Efficacy Enhanced by Prebiotic Supplementation.
Mixed results on inulin's effect
We explored the anticandidal potential of several probiotic Lactobacillus strains in combating yeast infections, particularly focusing on the role of inulin and some fruits as prebiotics. Our study assessed how these prebiotics influenced the growth and effectiveness of the probiotic strains against Candida, a common yeast responsible for infections.

We found that the anticandidal activity varied among the different Lactobacillus strains, with non-adjusted cell-free supernatants (CFSs) being the most effective. Notably, strains like Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus SD11 showed strong results against yeast, especially when combined with 2% mangosteen as a prebiotic. This combination not only promoted the growth of beneficial probiotic bacteria but also enhanced the production of short-chain fatty acids and antioxidants, which are vital for fighting off yeast.

However, while the study highlights the positive effects of probiotics and the benefits of prebiotics like mangosteen, it does not isolate inulin's specific impact on yeast infection. Therefore, while we observed a boost in anticandidal activity with prebiotic supplementation, particularly mangosteen, we cannot definitively conclude inulin's individual effectiveness without further focused research.

Skin infection rescue
Helped worked wonders for my dog! My three-year-old female pit bull has suffered from severe allergies and yeast/bacterial infections of the skin for nearly two years. I had to give her multiple doses of Benadryl daily just to manage the itch. I tried various treatments that only provided temporary relief. After researching probiotics, I added some Inulin powder with a plant enzyme probiotic to her diet. This has been a lifesaver. She no longer chews, licks, or scratches excessively. A quality product that delivered the results I wanted. Will buy again!

Not effective
This product has worsened my yeast infection rather than alleviating it. Within just two weeks, I noticed an increase in my candida infection. It’s rather disappointing, as I had high hopes for its effectiveness.

Highly effective
I use this product for the yeast that leavens my bread, and the results have been very positive. The effect it has on the yeast is excellent.

Good for baking
I find this product works wonderfully when baking bread that requires yeast. Inulin can substitute sugar (which the yeast consumes). It has been effective thus far and also serves as a great source of fibre, promoting gut health. I have consistently been pleased with products from the NOW brand due to their quality.

Ideal for keto
I purchased this to help make keto bread. It effectively serves as a nutrient source for the yeast, replacing honey or sugar, which is exactly what I needed.
