Herpes on the lips became crusted by the second day of taking elderberry, with no discomfort (4 capsules daily for 5-6 days) and completely disappeared on the fifth day. Previously, while using acyclovir, herpes took seven days to vanish, and I experienced painful tingling and burning during the first three days. For prevention, I recommend one capsule for a month at the start of autumn and again at the end of winter, and with a weakened immune system, potentially combine with zinc, selenium, and vitamins C and D3. Good! This natural antiviral is effective against influenza and herpes simplex. Although the capsules are a tad large, they are better than syrup since they don’t stain teeth. If taken at the first signs, consuming three capsules daily ensures that symptoms disappear by the end of two days. My entire family has tried it, and the dose for our 12-year-old was unchanged. There are no side effects, making it a staple in our medicine cabinet.

I have been ordering elderberry capsules for my entire family for some time. I mix the contents with juice for the children and take it myself when I have a cold. When combined with black walnut, it effectively combats herpes without the need for any topical treatments, making it much better than acyclovir.
