Selenium showed no significant effects
We examined a clinical trial that investigates whether selenium supplementation can help alleviate migraine symptoms. In this randomized, double-blinded study, 72 patients were divided into two groups: one received a daily selenium supplement while the other got a placebo, all over 12 weeks.

We tracked headache severity, frequency, and mental health markers like anxiety and depression, alongside measuring oxidative stress biomarkers. Despite the hopes for selenium’s antioxidant benefits, the trial did not find significant improvements in migraine symptoms or related health measures.

Selenium low in migraine patients
We assessed the link between selenium levels and migraine in a case-control study involving 31 migraine patients and 30 healthy controls. Our findings revealed that migraine patients had significantly lower selenium levels and higher levels of malondialdehyde, a marker of oxidative stress.

Intriguingly, those with the lowest selenium levels were about eleven times more likely to experience migraines compared to those with the highest levels. However, no significant differences were observed in total antioxidant capacity between the two groups, indicating that while selenium appears connected to migraine risk, it does not directly reduce migraine frequency.

Fine! I appreciated Selenium from this company immensely; my family and I enjoy it together. Alongside, we take Omega and D3 with K2, as well as Yodomarin and Aevit from Russian manufacturers. Regarding efficacy, I was utterly exhausted for a long period, lying in bed without the strength or motivation for daily chores. Now, I wake up refreshed and am active throughout the day! After suffering from migraines for the past four years, particularly with weather changes, I found relief once I introduced Selenium and D3K2. GREAT! It normalises sleep with consistent intake of two capsules. It improves my migraines significantly. Special effects ensue, and with extra magnesium, migraines fade away in a couple of hours. Previously, they would incapacitate me for half a day. The frequency has also decreased. If I take magnesium regularly, PMS and menstruation are much easier; I remain calm and can get through the first day without painkillers.
