We explored the effects of Lactobacillus species on bile-induced DNA damage in esophageal cells, which occurs during gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). By exposing these bacteria to a bile-rich environment, we found they could survive and interact beneficially with injured cells.
Notably, adding Lactobacillus after bile injury boosted the repair of DNA damage and lessened inflammation. This suggests that these probiotics could play a role in protecting against long-term complications of GERD, like Barrett's esophagus and esophageal cancer.

Probiotic supplement alleviates GERD symptoms
Efficacy of a Food Supplement Containing LA14, Peptides, and a Multivitamin Complex in Improving Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease-Related Outcomes and Quality of Life of Subjects Showing Mild-to-Moderate Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease.
We investigated the impact of a dietary supplement containing lactobacillus acidophilus, bioactive peptides, and vitamins on individuals with mild-to-moderate gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Conducted as a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study, we followed fifty-six adults over 28 days.
Participants reported a significant reduction in heartburn frequency and severity with the active supplement compared to the placebo. They also noted a decreased reliance on over-the-counter medications and improved quality of life. Overall, this supplement appears to bring meaningful relief to those struggling with GERD symptoms.

Lactobacillus acidophilus shows minimal effect
Probiotics prophylaxis in infants with primary vesicoureteral reflux.
We investigated whether the probiotic Lactobacillus acidophilus could help infants with primary vesicoureteral reflux (VUR) and recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs). In this study, 128 infants were split into two groups: one received probiotics while the other received antibiotics.
While the probiotic group experienced slightly fewer UTIs compared to the antibiotic group, the results were not statistically significant. Overall, both groups had similar outcomes for UTI causes, resolution of VUR, and renal scarring. However, probiotic treatment showed a reduced rate of antibiotic resistance among the infections.

Probiotics improved reflux

I wish I had tried probiotics years ago. I had many digestive issues, including reflux and bloating. After trying Pearls following an endoscopy that showed acid burns, I experienced significant improvement within days. My nausea and bloating disappeared, and my reflux remains much better. I used to take Zantac frequently, but now I only take it occasionally, thanks to Pearls.

I used to take Zantac or Tagamet almost every day for my acid stomach. Since starting this product every morning, I haven't needed anything else. I recommend it for anyone suffering ongoing discomfort without requiring a doctor's visit. Reflux can lead to serious issues, but this isn't a pain killer; it's effective without masking any serious problems.
