Anita has many years of experience in aged care nursing across various contexts in practice, research, and teaching. Her focus is on aged care and nursing practice, particularly in dementia care and end of life care. She teaches and supervises students interested in aged care and qualitative research. Anita has conducted research on nursing practice in aged care, palliative care, Indigenous health, clinical education, person-centered dementia care, and cultural diversity in carers, staff, and persons with dementia. She was the chief investigator for the development of the educational resource 'Come Into My World' for healthcare students on interacting with persons with dementia.
