Born in Milan, Italy, in 1950, Stefano Govoni has been working in the field of Neurobiology and Neuropharmacology since 1974. In Alzheimer Research, he has contributed with molecular biology studies to define the pharmacology of the amyloid protein precursor using tissues from affected patients. In Pavia, he is organizing conventions with clinical centers to establish a DNA and tissue bank from affected patients and is participating in programs to develop new drugs for Alzheimer's disease.
