Marcelo José Dias Silva holds a degree in Pharmacy (2009), a specialization in Multiprofessional Residency in Family Health (2012), a master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences (2012) from the Federal University of Alfenas, a PhD (2016) in Chemistry of Natural Products from the São Paulo State University - UNESP and a post-doctorate from the University of Cádiz, Spain (2018) and São Paulo State University (2020). From 2014 to 2020, he worked at the UNESP Litoral Paulista campus, in the Natural Products Prospecting Laboratory, which allowed the exchange of methodologies and scientific information with groups from the Federal University of São Paulo (Baixada Santista), University of Cádiz (Spain), University of Havana (Cuba) and University of Sonora (Mexico), in the areas of Ethnopharmacology and Chemistry of Natural Products, mainly in the isolation and identification of secondary metabolites from plant extracts. He participated in administrative functions (FAPESP Projects - Equipment Repair and Accounting), co-supervised more than 10 projects in IC, MS, DR and coordinated an IC project funded by FAPESP (Proc.: 16/14418-5). He was highlighted by the project: "Standardization of plant extracts of Mimosa spp. in the development of phytomedicines, BIOTA-FAPESP" (Proc.15/21479-8), with 97 articles in national and international. He was recognized by the Spanish ambassador. In 2020-2022, he was a visiting research professor at the Postgraduate Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Federal University of Alfenas, where he served as: Member of the collegiate, Full member of the research line: "Planning, obtaining and evaluation of natural and synthetic products of pharmaceutical interest", Coordinator of the discipline "Teaching Internship" for 2 years, "General Seminars" (master's level), proposed the discipline "Development of Phytotherapeutics for the treatment of chronic diseases", in collaboration with UNESP, UNIFESP, UFRJ and the University of Havana, Cuba and University of California, San Diego in the PPCGF, Coordinator of a Universal project approved by FAPEMIG (APQ-01296-21), 3 times president of the selection committee for Master's, Doctorate and Direct Doctorate, Coordinator for 2 consecutive terms of the Internal Committee of the Scientific, Technological and Innovation Initiation Programs in the Area of Health Sciences, taught the subject "Integrated Pharmacy Contents" in the Pharmacy course and taught the extension course "Basic Concepts of Mass Spectrometry and Use of the Global Natural Products Social Molecular Networking (GNPS) Platform". He is currently a volunteer service provider in public institutions. Collaborator of a master's project of the Postgraduate Program in Gastroenterology of the Paulista School of Medicine/Unifesp. Co-advisor of a doctoral project. Sub-coordinator of CIPICTI in the Health area of the Federal University of Alfenas. Collaborator in the projects of the BIONORTE Network of the Amazon. He works as a reviewer of journals in the area of natural products and Ethnopharmacology. He has published 34 articles, has 2 book chapters and 2 registered technological products. Member of the Cayapiá Institute, Brazilian Society of Pharmacognosy and Brazilian Society for the Advancement of Science.
