Mario J. Simirgiotis completed his Electromechanical Technitian High School degree at ENET 1 Ingeniero Agustin Mercau (Villa Mercedes, Argentina) in 1991. He then worked as a Technitian at Thubier S. A in Villa Mercedes, San Luis. From 1993 to 1997, he obtained his Pharmacyst Degree at the National University of San Luis, Argentina (UNSL) with Magna Cum Laude honors. Subsequently, he pursued his Ph.D. degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences at UNSL from 1998 to 2003, achieving the maximum grade. After working as a Pharmacyst in a Private Pharmacy in Argentina from 2004 to 2005, he went on to become a Postdoctoral Fellow at Lehman College, City University of New York in 2006 and at the Laboratory of Natural Products, University of Talca in 2007. He has since held various academic positions at different universities in Chile and Argentina, and is currently a full professor at Universidad Austral de Chile, Chile.
