A Good Product, After Doing An Objective Research

I live in South Florida , where sun shines bright year round. Yet, Most of the Floridians are Vitamin D deficient. That just goes to show that the bulk of US Population is VItamin D deficient . Drive around anywhere in Florida and you see no one getting exposed to sun when the sun is helping you to produce Vitamin D. Those people on the beach have generously spread sunscreen lotions preventing Vitamin D production. There is a price to prosperity!. As a consumer of Vitamin D, I always had challenges identifying which was a good vs mediocre.. Everyone claims they have the best fish oil. I can honestly come to the conclusion that this one is far superior than many other brands for the following reasons: MY STORY : I have been taking One-A-Day Multivitamin, Men's Health Formula , 200 Tablet Bottle which has 700 IU of VItamin D3 and was happy about it. Somewhere along the way, I started developing plantar fascitis. While reviewing about non medical way to treat it, someone had mentioned to try Vitamin D supplements. Since my doctor appointment was 15 days away, gave it a try with some generic Vitamin D supplement. Within a week , the pain was gone . A friend of mine was tired all the time, and doctor diagnosed with Vitamin D. Another person had headache and the root cause was the same . The point is you never know that the problem you are having might be because of Vitamin D deficiency. MOLECULARY DISTILLED : Since the product claimed molecularly distilled, I went and did some research and molecularly distilled products are generally supposed to have very high levels of purity. It says the source of Vitamin D is livers of deep cold water fish ( Cod, Pollock, Haddock), which if true are very good sources. Add the molecular distillation process, you eliminate the Heavy metal contents like Cd, Hg,Pb,As. DOSAGE, TASTE AND SIZE : It is a small pill with no after smell and suggested dosage is 1 softgel of 1000 IU. If your doctor prescribes you Vitamin D, they generally give 50,000 IU one pill a week. Don't be surprised if you are that deficient. Always give one or two days break every week, so to avoid constipation problems that some of them encounter. INGREDIENTS : There is gelatin in it and most likely it is from pork ( have emailed the manufacturer and waiting for a reply. Vitamin D is from Cod, Haddock and Pollock, so Sorry it is not a vegetarian. HOW IT FEELS TO EAT : The capsule is fairly small and , has no fish blurp and feels similar to other brands I have tried. SUMMARY: I am a long term user of Nature's bounty Vitamin D3. I am switching for sure to this brand. IMPORTANT DISCLOSURE : I Got this product for free, and many people treat a free product review as a paid advertisement and ignore. However I try to keep my reviews honest and objective. I took time to email for additional information from the company, researched on the internet etc. Have got scammed enough by fake products that will never do it another person

Excellent Quality

I have to take vitamin D, 1000 IU every day because I have ulcerative colitis. I can tell by my health and my mood that Solgar gives me consistent results. My blood work is also consistent. I trust Solgar and its the only brand I'll take. In the past when I tried other brands I noticed the different within a week. My colon gets worse and I get the blues. Once I get back on Solgar I'm feeling better in days. Note: I've been told by doctors to go above 1000 IU and my internist will find I get high blood calcium levels, meaning calcium is being leached from my bones. Vit D is a calcium cofactor so it helps calcium go both in and out of your bones. Think of it like a gentleman holding the door open for the calcium. Be careful if you take other supplements with Vit D so you don't over do it

Warning! This D3 is not vegan or vegetarian!

I made a terrible assumption that this D3 was at least vegetarian, maybe made from lanolin, because the pill coating was vegetarian. I called Solgar to verify and was told it was made from sheep and possibly cow. This D3 is derived from meat if that matters to you

Check the tamper evident plastic cover!

Solar vitamin products are typically sold in amber glass bottles, and importantly, these bottles are always fully covered with a tamper-evident plastic sheet. The product we received June 2021 arrived with what appears to be only a tamper-evident plastic ring at the neck of the bottle, making the appearance as through the bottle has been tampered. We would advise against accepting products which make the appearnce as through they have been tampered with

Little goes a long way for me.

This bottle lasts me a very long time b/c I only take half a tablet each day if not every other day. It is true potency and I can't take a whole one. As I have mentioned before many times, I love tablets so I can break into doses for my own needs and not the manufacturer recommends which is too strong

Vitamin D3 by Solgar

I try my best to purchase/order Solgar brands, its my favorite as well as the blue bunny supplements. These are softgels which I am not fond of and I prefer the breakable tablets instead. I now have the breakable tabs by Solgar which is much nicer b/c I can only take half tablet at a time. I am a real wimp and can't take high dosed supplements or medications. Try your best to purchase tablets so you can cutomize your own dose by listening to your body's reactions. When you add a new supplement of any type, always take that one by it self once or twice so you know if you have some adverse reaction to it, its from the new one rather than trying to figure out which gave you the side effects. If you decide to take them all together, I guess if you've done well w/o neg-side effects and you add the new one and have the bad experience than I guess you would know but the key is can the new supplement be taken along with other ones or do you have to stagger it so you can still take it. Always start low and than add up to recommended dose on bottle or customize the dose according to what your body needs. Remember folks that supplements should be taken to replace what your body doesn't make any longer or you may not get in your diet. With some things, more is not always better espcially with natural hormone replacements even. Listen to your body

Good for Those Sensitive to Rancid Oil

I got these because I get migraines from rancid oil, and I didn't trust the products dissolved in some kind of vegetable oil and sealed in gelatin. These are dry tablets. So far, so good. These are particularly good for arthritis-like symptoms attributable to vitamin D deficiency, a condition ignored by physicians who love to dispense expensive prescription drugs

FOUL ODOR, NO REFUND!!

I have bought this product many times, no problems. I open it this morning and it has a foul smell. NO REFUND!!! I will be looking for a different company for my Vit D. Update: Amazon did replace this item for me. A great gesture for customer service

D3 A Must To Stay Healthy !

Bought these Vitamin D3 1000 IU 250 count for my 8 year old son which is the proper dosage amount for him. I think every one should be aware that for adults up to about 220lbs that 5,000 IU a day is about what you want and if you are heaver then I am sure there is a chart on the internet for recommended dosage amounts of D3. Lack of proper D3 in our bodies has been linked to so many different disease and it is so preventable for a $10.00 bottle of vitamin D3 and the latest breakthrough study that just came out is the depletion of Iodine in our bodies because the salt at the store is bleached and provides just a drop of what your body really needs. My top 3 must have health products is Hyperbiotics Pro 15 Advanced probiotics taken daily till you pass away along with vitamin D3 5,000 IU for adults and Iodine that is all found here on Amazon and combine these with a great multi vitamin then you will see how much better you feel and how less sick you become and I swear by them and take them daily and have not had as much as a cold in over 3 years when I started taking them
