Acne also improved, with a reduction from 46.9% to 12.5%.

Furthermore, women who took selenium supplements exhibited decreased levels of dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), hirsutism, and markers of inflammation and oxidative stress. Additionally, we found that selenium also reduced levels of thyroid peroxidase antibodies (TPOAb) and malondialdehyde (MDA), which indicates improved thyroid health and reduced oxidative stress. Interestingly, we observed that these benefits occurred irrespective of whether patients were receiving thyroid hormone therapy.

However, we did not find significant changes in other thyroid hormones or immune markers, indicating that while selenium can be effective in some areas, its benefits may not extend across all measures of thyroid health. We observed that the generation of superoxide anions from this process causes DNA damage and triggers the p53 signaling pathway, which enhances the drug's effectiveness in killing cancer cells.

This research is important because Candida species can lead to both mild and serious infections, and finding effective treatments is crucial.

Our study demonstrated that (MeOPhSe) is non-toxic to human cells, such as cervical epithelial and fibroblastic cells, and has a notable antifungal effect. We observed that it inhibited the growth of C. krusei in a dose-dependent manner, altering its growth pattern and extending the length of its lag phase. Most significantly, we found that this compound reduced the ability of both C. krusei and C. albicans to adhere to human cells, a critical step in the infection process.

The reductions we measured were substantial: C. krusei adherence dropped by 37.24%, while C. albicans showed a 32.84% reduction, both being statistically significant. We explored how selenium supplementation might help individuals suffering from Graves' orbitopathy, an autoimmune disorder linked to thyroid dysfunction. Our approach involved a systematic review and meta-analysis that assessed results from four randomized controlled trials.

The findings revealed that selenium supplementation had a significant positive impact on various aspects of Graves' orbitopathy. Over a period of six months, patients taking selenium showed a notable reduction in clinical activity scores, which reflect the severity of eye symptoms. Furthermore, their quality of life also improved significantly.

We observed improvements not only in the overall quality of life specific to eye conditions, but also in visual and psychological functioning scores. Additionally, selenium appeared to reduce the width of the eyelids, providing further benefits for eye-related symptoms. However, we found no significant changes in other areas, such as eye bulging or muscle movement abilities.

Importantly, selenium supplementation was deemed safe with minor side effects reported, suggesting it could be a viable option for managing Graves' orbitopathy. While our results are promising, we believe further research is needed to thoroughly validate the long-term effectiveness and safety of selenium treatment for this condition.

Autoimmune disorder! I purchased this product at a great price. The small package fits in the palm of my hand and the quality appears satisfactory, with selenium and molybdenum in the ingredients. The capsules are of average size and easy to swallow. While the smell isn't pleasant, I believe it's due to the selenium. It effectively liquefies biofilms, mucus, and other pathogens, gently ridding the body of them. It strengthens my immune system, preventing illness at the first signs of trouble.
