A prospective study of 1,103 HIV-infected adults in Tanzania examined whether vitamin D levels affected disease risk during antiretroviral therapy. Researchers measured vitamin D status at treatment initiation and tracked participants monthly for infections and weight loss.
Adults with vitamin D deficiency (below 20 ng/mL) faced nearly double the risk of developing oral thrush compared to those with sufficient levels. Deficiency was also strongly linked to tuberculosis, wasting, and significant weight loss. Interestingly, having borderline low vitamin D didn't increase risk—only true deficiency mattered.
These findings suggest that ensuring adequate vitamin D during HIV treatment may help prevent serious infections like thrush, making vitamin D supplementation worth testing in clinical trials.

Excellent probiotic! I took these throughout my pregnancy, alternating two months of use with one month off. They were well tolerated, and all smear tests came back perfect. My doctor approved them, stating that the composition was excellent. I did not experience thrush either, which I believe is due to these probiotics. Continuing their use during breastfeeding is advisable. While they may not be cheap, the results are worth it. I plan to take them regularly throughout the year, alternating with others. An irreplaceable product in any home, I've known tea tree oil for a long time. I apply it on various rashes, scratches, and bites; use it in an aroma lamp when unwell; and do inhalations as it helps a lot. For thrush, I soak a tampon in coconut oil with a drop of tea tree oil and leave it overnight. I also use it for mouth rinsing, stomatitis, and for cleaning the floor, adding a couple of drops in water for disinfection. It’s an effective lifesaver and very economical!

We evaluated the antifungal effects of 5% and 10% tea tree oil (TTO) against Candida species that cause vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC) in pregnant women. Conducted in a mycology lab, the study observed 18 isolates from 15 women. The results showed that while tea tree oil did have antifungal activity, nystatin outperformed both concentrations of TTO in effectiveness. The increase from 5% to 10% TTO showed a slight benefit but not to a significant extent. More research is needed to establish the best TTO levels for treating VVC during pregnancy.

This is my favourite probiotic. For the second year, I keep it at home all the time, starting to drink it at the first sign of Thrush. Initially, my body reacted oddly – there was constipation for a couple of days, but then everything worked out. Thankfully, it did. I appreciate that it doesn't affect my good bacteria and is excreted quickly. The intestinal microflora requires constant support, and this probiotic delivers that. I also use it for my nephew when he has diarrhoea, along with others, to combat Helicobacter.

The best oil for health; I use it for women's tampons to treat Thrush and microflora issues. I add a few drops of tea tree oil to 50ml, soak a cotton swab, and insert it overnight for about ten days, which works wonders.
