Zinc's limited effect on dizziness
This study examined the effectiveness of a nutritional supplement containing zinc, among other ingredients, in preventing the recurrence of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), a condition that can cause intense dizziness. We followed a diverse group of 128 patients with a history of frequent BPPV episodes. They were divided into three groups based on their vitamin D levels and received different treatment plans.

In one group, those with low vitamin D received a daily supplement containing zinc, along with other antioxidants and vitamin D3. We noticed a remarkable decrease in BPPV relapses in this group after six months compared to where they started. However, for the groups that had sufficient vitamin D and particularly those receiving zinc without vitamin D, we did not find significant benefits in reducing dizziness recurrence.

While zinc was part of a combined treatment approach, it didn’t demonstrate a standalone positive impact on dizziness. Our findings suggest that while zinc might play a role alongside other supplements, it shouldn't be solely relied upon for preventing BPPV relapses in patients with sufficient vitamin D levels.

Dizziness reduced
I purchased this supplement after discovering my dizziness and lightheadedness were caused by zinc deficiency. While I don’t feel an immediate effect, I’ve noticed a gradual reduction in dizziness and lightheadedness, which suggests it is effective.

NOW L-OptiZinc caused severe dizziness and nausea. I had been satisfied with the product for a year before I noticed a change in its appearance. After my family and I started taking it, we all experienced nausea and dizziness. We realised the new batch was the culprit: our symptoms ceased as soon as we stopped taking it and switched to another brand.

Avoid empty stomach
This supplement acts quickly but should only be taken after meals. If consumed on an empty stomach, severe nausea and dizziness can occur. I take it every three days due to the higher dosage.
