We investigated how a new blend of Bifidobacterium longum BB536 and Lactobacillus rhamnosus HN001, along with vitamin B6, impacts bloating in patients with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

In a study involving 25 IBS patients, we found that those receiving this treatment experienced a significant reduction in bloating, with a 36.35% improvement compared to those on placebo, who actually experienced more bloating.

Overall, this formulation not only alleviated bloating but also eased abdominal pain and improved gut health, showcasing promising results for IBS symptom management.

Probiotics reduce bloating post-surgery
We explored the impact of probiotic supplementation on gastrointestinal issues following Roux-en-Y gastric bypass. In a well-structured trial, participants were divided into a group receiving Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium lactis and another receiving a placebo.

While both groups showed similar rates of small intestine bacterial overgrowth, those taking the probiotics reported significantly less bloating. They experienced some additional gastrointestinal symptoms but overall felt better in terms of bloating.

Ultimately, the probiotics were effective for managing bloating without affecting SIBO development.

Cefixime and probiotics enhance bloating relief
We investigated how cefixime and probiotics impact bloating in patients suffering from functional abdominal bloating (FAB). In a study involving 122 diagnosed patients, we compared three treatment groups: one receiving conventional treatment, a second with cefixime, and a third with probiotics.

Those treated with probiotics and cefixime saw notable improvements in their bloating sensations and abdominal distension compared to conventional methods. Interestingly, while symptoms like abdominal pain and bowel changes improved across all groups, the addition of probiotics and cefixime showed enhanced benefits.

Overall, these findings suggest that incorporating probiotics and cefixime may offer significant support for individuals struggling with bloating.

Probiotics reduce pediatric AAD risk
We analyzed data from 23 studies involving nearly 4,000 children to assess how probiotics help prevent antibiotic-associated diarrhea (AAD).

The results showed that those taking probiotics had an 8% incidence of AAD, compared to 19% in the control group, indicating a significant protective effect.

None of the trials documented serious adverse events from the probiotics, but some participants reported mild side effects like gas or bloating. Overall, probiotics such as Lactobacillus rhamnosus seem helpful in reducing AAD in children after antibiotic use.

Lactobacillus aids iron therapy tolerance
We examined how Lactobacillus plantarum 299v impacts patients with iron deficiency anemia who were starting oral iron replacement therapy. In our research with 295 participants, those who took the probiotic alongside their iron therapy reported significantly less bloating and other gastrointestinal issues.

This led to better treatment adherence, with fewer individuals stopping their iron therapy early. Additionally, the probiotic users showed improved iron levels and hemoglobin readings after three months. Overall, Lactobacillus proved effective in easing bloating and supporting gastrointestinal comfort during iron treatment.

Normalised bloating issues
Always in the first aid kit! I start taking these probiotics when antibiotics are prescribed, and they work excellently. I even used them once during mild thrush. Many probiotics seemed ineffective, but these do—normalising stool, reducing bloating, and perfectly regulating female microflora. I will definitely repeat the purchase.

Bloating, cramping, and spotting - side effects (a bit too much information). I've read over three hundred reviews, and mine seems unique. These do work, but consistency is essential. After a few days of taking them, I experienced significant discharge, spotting, intense bloating, cramping, and gas, beginning as early as day two. I stopped taking them after a few weeks due to the side effects, but within days, my recurring issues returned!

This is good! It has a great mix of probiotic strains. I have been taking it for a couple of months, and my digestion and IBS have improved. There is less bloating and discomfort. Although a bit expensive, I try to diversify my probiotic intake.

Kefir shows promise for bloating
We evaluated the effects of specific probiotic strains from kefir on gastrointestinal health in healthy adults. In a randomized, single-blind, placebo-controlled study, we found that daily consumption of AB-kefir led to significant reductions in bloating and abdominal pain over three weeks.

Male participants showed notable improvements, and changes in gut bacteria profiles suggested a healthier gut microbiome. Although results were promising, the benefits varied between genders. Overall, AB-kefir holds potential as a natural option for enhancing gut health.

Probiotics reduce gas but not pain
We examined the impact of a specific combination of Lactobacillus acidophilus probiotics on bloating and other irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) symptoms in a stringent clinical trial. Eighty IBS patients took either probiotics or a placebo for eight weeks, focusing on abdominal pain and bloating.

While we didn't see improvement in abdominal pain, there were noteworthy reductions in flatus and overall symptom scores. This suggests that while Lactobacillus may not impact all IBS symptoms, it could help with some aspects of bloating and gas. Our findings encourage further research into probiotics for IBS treatment.
