We investigated the effects of Limosilactobacillus fermentum (L. fermentum) KBL674 on vaginal candidiasis in a mouse model. This strain inhibited the growth of Candida albicans and significantly decreased infection symptoms. Notably, the oral intake of L. fermentum KBL674 influenced both vaginal and gut microbiome health, promoting beneficial bacteria that seemed to correlate with reduced C. albicans levels. Thus, L. fermentum KBL674 shows promise for managing vaginal candidiasis by enhancing gut microbiome diversity and lowering fungal burden.
We conducted a rigorous study to investigate the impact of lactobacillus probiotics on pregnant women suffering from vaginal candidiasis. In this double-blind, placebo-controlled trial involving 78 participants, we administered a probiotic for eight weeks.

Our results highlighted significant benefits, with the probiotics maintaining microbiota stability in the vagina and gut, unlike the placebo group. Participants taking probiotics showed less variation in their microbiota, which is crucial for overall health. While the treatment showed promise in preserving microbiota composition, individual experiences may vary.

Lactobacillus shows promise for candidiasis
We assessed how well Lactobacillus plantarum P 17630 works against vaginal candidiasis compared to traditional antifungal treatments like miconazole. In a controlled trial, women with candidiasis took either Lactobacillus capsules or miconazole capsules for several days. Results showed that both treatments reduced vaginitis symptoms over time, with no significant differences. Importantly, Lactobacillus treatment did not lead to any adverse effects and may foster healthier vaginal flora in the long run, potentially decreasing recurring infections.

My wife often suffers from thrush, so I decided to order these probiotics for her. After starting the course, she noticed a significant improvement in comfort in the intimate area, and no longer experiences the discomfort she had. She has remarked positively on the effect, and even a month after completing the treatment, the results are still evident. She believes these are excellent probiotics.

I bought these probiotics randomly after reading various reviews. During my fifth month of pregnancy, I struggled with thrush, but they didn’t help me at all. Despite claims of clinically proven results, I experienced another bout of thrush, and I did not feel any improvement.

Lactobacillus shows candidiasis promise
This study looked at Lactobacillus gasseri VHProbi E09, a strain shown to effectively inhibit harmful bacteria like Gardnerella vaginalis and Candida albicans, key players in vaginitis. We found that this strain could cut the growth of both pathogens by an impressive 99%, while also preventing their attachment to vaginal cells.

What’s exciting is the potential of L. gasseri VHProbi E09 as a probiotic for improving vaginal health, either taken orally or applied directly. However, more research is needed to fully explore its effects and effectiveness in restoring balance in the vaginal ecosystem.

Identified lactobacillus metabolites inhibit Candida
Through innovative techniques like genome-scale metabolic modeling and metagenomic sequencing, we discovered the role of specific lactobacillus strains in combating vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC).

Our analysis of 159 strains showed that many have inhibitory effects on Candida, altering its metabolism through key metabolites like L-lactate and formate. Interestingly, we found a positive link between the presence of these beneficial strains and lower Candida levels in vaginal samples.

This research informs future strategies focused on enhancing vaginal health by utilizing these powerful strains and their metabolites to hinder candidiasis.
We investigated the potential of a newly isolated probiotic, AJCR4, to combat oral candidiasis, a common infection, particularly among immunocompromised individuals. AJCR4 showed strong antifungal effects against both free and biofilm forms of Candida, with impressive results in reducing viable cells in lab tests. In specific biofilms, we observed over 2-log reductions in cell counts. This promising performance suggests that AJCR4 could serve as an effective alternative strategy for treating difficult oral candidiasis cases, especially recurrent infections.

Potential alternative for VVC treatment
We investigated the effects of a novel fermentation broth called VAGINNE on vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC), a common condition affecting many women. Using a mouse model, we found that VAGINNE not only boosted beneficial bacteria but also suppressed the growth of Candida, promoting a healthier vaginal environment.

Additionally, VAGINNE significantly decreased inflammation markers, which is essential for tissue health. This promising approach suggests VAGINNE could be a valuable alternative to traditional antifungals, especially for women facing drug resistance or side effects from standard treatments.

Probiotics enhance candidiasis treatment
We explored how combining oral probiotics with standard antifungal treatment affects vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC). In a randomized controlled trial involving 60 patients, we compared results between those receiving antifungal medication alone and those receiving it alongside probiotics.

The results were promising! Participants who took probiotics showed better clinical and mycological outcomes, along with a reduced rate of relapse compared to those on antifungal treatment alone. This suggests that probiotics may be a valuable addition to VVC management.

Works well with antibiotics
I always keep these probiotics in my first aid kit. I begin taking them when prescribed antibiotics as they work excellently. I also took them for mild thrush. Unlike other probiotics I've tried, this one effectively normalised my bowel movements, reduced bloating, and regulated my female microflora. I will definitely repurchase.

Did not help
It is very expensive, but unfortunately, it didn’t assist with my candida. I took it for about half a year without any success.

Effective with additional treatment
Great probiotic! We acquired it based on our doctor's recommendation and used it alongside suppositories and tablets from the same brand to combat thrush effectively.

Preventative post-treatment use
I used these probiotics after undergoing anti-candidal treatment to prevent a relapse. The results were wholly satisfying, but I should mention that following an anti-candida diet is also key for optimal outcomes.

Ineffective for me
The effect has been average for me. I purchased a treatment for candida, but it still keeps relapsing. Perhaps this product is not effective for me, so I will seek alternatives.

Vaginal health support
This aids women’s vaginal health effectively, as it can prevent candida. I take one pill daily and two during sensitive periods, and everything improves soon. I recommend it.

Partially helpful

I chose this probiotic for systemic candidiasis therapy due to its lactobacilli composition. Initially, there were no changes, but then I did experience painful discharges, which resolved without additional treatment. While not containing the daily 50 billion lactobacilli I believe necessary, it did provide partial help. The capsules are small and easy to swallow. I intend to use them for at least another 3-4 months.

Probiotics show promise but variable
We explored the effectiveness of probiotics, especially certain lactobacillus strains, in treating vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC) and bacterial vaginosis (BV). By reviewing 11 high-quality randomized controlled trials, we found that probiotics could help restore a healthy vaginal microbiota and showed promising clinical outcomes.

However, the results varied across studies, signaling that more research is necessary to fully understand their benefits in treating these infections.

We observed three specific strains of Lactobacillus, namely LM1203, LM1209, and LM1215, that displayed promising results in inhibiting vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC). Isolated from healthy women, these strains significantly reduced the growth of harmful pathogens.

In addition, LM1215 showed remarkable ability to disrupt biofilms and induce cellular damage against these pathogens. Our findings suggest that LM1215 is not only effective but also safe, positioning it as a viable probiotic option for preventing VVC and bacterial vaginosis.
