Top Medical Research Studies

We conducted a thorough analysis to determine how alpha-lipoic acid, in combination with other supplements, affects early complications like edema and seroma following breast-conserving surgery (BCS). Our study was structured as a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled trial involving 114 participants over a span of three years.

Participants were divided into three groups, with one group receiving a mix of Casperomeâ„¢-Boswellia Phytosome and bromelain along with alpha-lipoic acid, while the other groups received either bromelain with a placebo or just a placebo. Over a period of 30 days, we gathered data on the effectiveness of these treatments.

Our findings revealed that the combination of bromelain and alpha-lipoic acid significantly reduced the incidence of edema and seroma compared to the placebo. Specifically, after one month, we observed marked improvements in patients who received the active treatment. This research highlights the potential therapeutic benefits of alpha-lipoic acid, especially when used with other agents, in managing early complications that can follow breast surgery. Although it’s important to note that the specific isolating effects of alpha-lipoic acid on its own were challenging to determine, the results offer a promising glimpse into its use in surgical recovery.

A necessary supplement, alpha lipoic acid aids antioxidants like vitamins D, C, and E, recycling them within the body. Recent applications pair ALA with low-dose naltrexone for cancer, HIV/AIDS, autoimmune, and neurodegenerative diseases, achieving excellent results.

After being diagnosed with cancer in July 2022, I experienced paresthesia in my hands and feet due to chemotherapy effects. My podiatrist recommended alpha-lipoic acid, and since starting, the paresthesia has significantly diminished, nearly gone from my hands and about 95% improved in my feet. I now rely on iHerb for all my supplements—excellent prices, swift shipping, and great quality. Thank you for this fantastic product!

Antioxidant benefits
The high-quality antioxidant lipoic acid is crucial for various cellular processes. A deficiency negatively impacts vital functions. It boasts many benefits, including neutralising toxins, lowering blood glucose, and reducing cancer risk. It promotes energy transformation and supports nervous system health, among other vital biochemical roles.

My wife has taken this product for years along with garcinia Cambogia, following Dr. Laurent Schwartz's metabolic method against breast cancer. Thankfully, there has been no recurrence for several years.
