I believe that 20mg is too high a dose each day. Contrary to foreign guidelines, recommending no more than 30mg a week, I've learnt long-term high doses of carotenoids can elevate the risk of lung cancer. Initially, my order of 20mg altered to 10mg, but I was fortunate to receive 20mg. After learning about the potential side effects, I decided to stop taking lutein altogether, fearing the risk of lung cancer. I now take it infrequently, as my experience indicates that without the proper dosage daily, it's ineffective.

Smoking risks
I’ve realised that there’s a direct connection between lutein and lung cancer for smokers, warranting caution. It's crucial to be mindful of the risks associated with lutein intake in such cases to prevent potential health issues down the line.
