Brewer's yeast aids constipation relief
We investigated the effects of brewer's yeast cell wall (BYC) on constipation in male rats induced by a medication called loperamide. In our findings, rats that received BYC showed significantly better defecation compared to those on a non-fiber diet or a cellulose-based diet. This improvement also included higher fecal water content and volatile fatty acids in the cecal contents. These results suggest that BYC can be beneficial in alleviating constipation by enhancing fermentation and water retention in the digestive system.

EpiCor modulates gut microbiome effects
We explored how EpiCor fermentate, derived from yeast, could help alleviate gastrointestinal discomfort and constipation. Through a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study with 80 participants, we tracked changes in symptoms and bowel movements over six weeks.

Results showed that while EpiCor did modify the gut microbiome, any improvements in constipation symptoms were modest. Interestingly, the treatment seemed to encourage a quicker transit time for digestion, possibly changing the balance of gut bacteria. Overall, EpiCor may have some benefits, but its effects were not as significant as anticipated.

We conducted an individual patient data meta-analysis involving two clinical trials to evaluate how CNCM I-3856 affects gastrointestinal symptoms in individuals with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). A total of 579 subjects participated, and our findings revealed noticeable improvements in abdominal pain and bloating after just two months of supplementation.

Specifically, the active group experienced significant pain relief and improved stool consistency compared to the placebo group. While many showed improvement, there were no major differences between groups by the end of the study, indicating the results may vary for different individuals over time.

Best NAC experience
9 people found this helpful
I have tried various brands of NAC, and this one stands out as the best. I also bought it for my sister, who struggles to swallow capsules; she opens them and claims this one has the best taste. The quality is outstanding, and she visits the bathroom shortly after taking it, which is beneficial for those dealing with constipation. A detox isn't necessary, but it's worth considering.

Effective IBS symptom relief observed
We explored the effects of Saccharomyces cerevisiae on patients suffering from Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). In a four-week study with thirty participants, we found that daily 500 mg doses of this yeast led to significant reductions in abdominal pain and improvements in overall quality of life.

Results showed pain scores decreased dramatically, and all quality of life measures improved after treatment. This suggests that Saccharomyces cerevisiae could be an effective option for those looking to alleviate IBS symptoms.

We examined how TRANSITECH, a food supplement made from plants and lactic ferments, affects constipation in healthy adults. Over a 10-day period, participants took either TRANSITECH or a placebo.

After monitoring their bowel movements, colonic transit time (CTT), and bloating, we found that TRANSITECH significantly increased their bowel movements and improved transit times without causing discomfort.

Impressively, these benefits continued even after participants stopped using the supplement.

Beta-glucans improve constipation effects
We investigated whether beta-glucans from bread yeast could treat constipation caused by loperamide in mice. In our study, 40 mice were given loperamide to induce constipation, followed by a diet containing different doses of beta-glucans.

We observed that the beta-glucans improved defecation frequency and supported intestinal health. Additionally, the treatment helped restore a healthy balance of gut bacteria and supported neurotransmitter function.

Overall, this research suggests that beta-glucans could be a beneficial nutritional supplement for managing constipation by enhancing gut wellness.

Normalises digestion

Since I frequently suffer from constipation, I opt for supplements that aid in normalising the digestion process and detoxifying the body. I take NAC with meals, both morning and evening, and add Mg as a ternary complex at night. I observe its effects first thing in the morning, prompting me to dash to the toilet. Apologies for the details, but I hope my review assists others in selecting appropriate supplements for their condition. Overall, this product is safe and contains valuable ingredients like selenium, molybdenum, and N-acetylcysteine, which aid in toxin removal. I favour the Doctor Best range for its quality ingredients and reasonable prices. I highly recommend it! Wishing everyone peace and goodness!🙏🙏🙏 Ukraine is the victor!

Improves gastrointestinal function

Very helpful! Following my uterine surgery a year ago, I experienced dizziness. Seeing positive recommendations for this product, I decided to try it. It genuinely helped, surprisingly alleviating my constipation linked to the surgery. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, a deficiency in vital energy (Qi) and blood can lead to constipation. Previously, I tried increasing my fibre intake, but it did little. Sorry for my poor English; I hope this helps others with similar issues. May GOD bless you all. Amen.

Most effective detox

☆Faecal matter☆Light body☆ I have always battled with constipation and tried numerous remedies, including a specific detox mud, but this is by far the most effective. I took two capsules daily after meals, and within a few days, something akin to old stool was expelled; my skin also brightened after a week of use. We iHerb users are accustomed to larger capsule sizes, but it's manageable with ample water. While the aftertaste is somewhat bitter, it's acceptable. I may need to strategise usage prior to a date as I feel lighter, indicating a successful detox.

Saccharomyces cerevisiae shows promise
We conducted a randomized double-blind study to see how Saccharomyces cerevisiae I-3856 impacts irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) symptoms, including constipation. Over 12 weeks, 379 participants took either the probiotic or a placebo, with their symptoms tracked through detailed questionnaires.

While we found no overall improvement in IBS symptoms, those with constipation did show significant relief in abdominal pain and bloating when taking the probiotic. This suggests potential benefits for constipation, but further studies are necessary to confirm these findings.
