We examined how hyperoside, a compound in Semen cuscutae, can combat osteoporosis in ovariectomized mice, particularly after menopause. The study revealed that hyperoside effectively increased bone density and improved bone structure by reducing the differentiation of osteoclasts—cells that break down bone.
Our findings indicated that the anti-osteoporotic effects of hyperoside are linked to the estrogen receptor α, as blocking this receptor reversed its benefits. Ultimately, hyperoside shows promise in protecting against osteoporosis through its actions on specific signaling pathways.

Defeats Osteoporosis. I have always taken additional calcium with my meals, often calcium carbonate or citrate. After a fall at 65 that required five surgeries, I was diagnosed with osteoporosis. I learned that calcium alone isn't enough; vitamins D3, K1, K2, and magnesium are also crucial. I discovered New Chapter Bone Strength, which combines everything I needed. I’m pleased to report that after two years on this regimen, my osteoporosis is GONE. My bond with New Chapter is permanent, and at 70, I feel confident I will never need fosamax, thanks to this supplement.

"Significant increase in bone mineral density since previous study done in March 2018" - those words were music to my ears. Diagnosed with osteoporosis in 2018, I initially took generic fosamax but experienced severe side effects. I decided to pursue alternative methods for two years, incorporating this supplement, hydration with lemon water, and consistent exercise. My 2020 bone density results showed stability or improvement, and I no longer meet the criteria for pharmacologic therapy. At over 65, achieving these results without medication feels miraculous.

New Chapter Bone Strength. I’m not one for reviews, but New Chapter Bone Strength truly deserves the praise. This product was recommended to me by my Naturopathic Doctor, and I cannot thank her enough. I've been using it for a year, and my recent Dexa Scan showed a reversal from osteoporosis to osteopenia. I was astounded as my regular MD led me to believe that such a reversal was not feasible...she even laughed at the idea. Well, I have the last laugh now! I wholeheartedly recommend this product and will continue taking it diligently. Looking to reverse osteopenia at my next scan.

Bone density improvement

Bone Strength. I did some research and found this supplement. I liked that the calcium came from a plant source and also included magnesium, strontium, vitamin D, and vitamin K, which all work together to strengthen bones. Each of these alone may not provide the correct proportions for optimal effect. For instance, strontium can improve bone density test results without actually reinforcing bone structure, potentially leaving them brittle. Six years ago, my bone density test showed -2.5 (osteoporosis) in my hips and back, and I experienced consistent aches. Within six months of starting this supplement, my knee pains stopped completely. Subsequent tests every two years showed improvement from -2.5 to -1.4. While some reviews suggest rapid improvement, I found better results take time. At 74, my bone density has improved significantly and has not deteriorated. This is good enough for me.

My doctor was amazed at the change! Diagnosed with osteopenia at 59.5, I knew I had a family history of osteoporosis and was keen to prevent it. After starting to exercise and improve my diet, my doctor recommended a calcium supplement. Two years later, my bone scan showed improvement, and he was pleased with my results. He advised me to continue my regimen, stating I was on the right track. I've had no side effects from these slim tablets and highly recommend this product!
Osteoporosis is a medical condition characterized by weakened bones, making them fragile and more prone to fractures. This condition occurs when the body loses too much bone mass, doesn't make enough bone, or a combination of both. As bones lose density, they can break more easily, often as a result of minor falls or injury. Osteoporosis is often referred to as a "silent disease" because bone loss occurs without any symptoms until a fracture occurs, often in the hip, spine, or wrist.
Risk factors for developing osteoporosis include age, gender (it’s more common in women), family history, low body weight, and certain medical conditions and medications. Lifestyle choices such as smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, and a diet low in calcium and vitamin D can also contribute to bone loss. Regular weight-bearing exercise, ensuring adequate nutrition, and, in some cases, medications can help prevent or manage osteoporosis. If you believe you may be at risk, it is important to consult with a healthcare professional for appropriate screening and intervention options.
Bone formulas, which typically consist of a blend of vitamins, minerals, and sometimes herbal ingredients, are often marketed as supplements to support bone health. Many of these formulations are rich in essential nutrients like calcium, vitamin D, magnesium, and vitamin K, which can play a vital role in maintaining strong bones. For individuals with osteoporosis, ensuring an adequate intake of these nutrients is crucial, as they can help reduce the risk of fractures and improve overall bone density. However, it’s important to note that while bone formulas can be a supportive part of a comprehensive treatment plan, they should not replace prescribed medications or lifestyle changes recommended by a healthcare provider.
If you’re considering bone formulas as a way to help manage osteoporosis, it’s essential to consult with a healthcare professional first. They can provide personalized advice on whether these supplements are appropriate for your specific condition and help you determine the right dosage. Additionally, a balanced diet rich in whole foods, regular weight-bearing exercise, and healthy lifestyle choices, such as avoiding smoking and excessive alcohol consumption, are integral to managing osteoporosis effectively. While bone formulas can contribute to a supportive regimen, they are most effective when used in conjunction with other established osteoporosis management strategies.
Users generally report seeing improvements in their bone density and overall condition related to osteoporosis after consistent use of the supplement over an extended period. Many reviews indicate that significant changes can be observed after about six months to a year of taking the supplement. For instance, one user mentioned improvements in bone density after a year of usage, transitioning from osteoporosis to osteopenia (Read Review). Another user experienced normal results after nine months of taking the product combined with healthy lifestyle choices (Read Review).
In addition, a user noted noticeable improvements in their condition after over a year of consistent use (Read Review), while another felt confident about their bone health after a year without a follow-up scan (Read Review). Overall, the consensus among users seems to be that sustained use over six months to a year is key to achieving the desired results in managing osteoporosis.
The data reveals several herbal formulas and compounds that show promise in combating osteoporosis, each supported by scientific research. For instance, Zuogui Wan (ZGW) notably improved bone loss in postmenopausal osteoporosis models, highlighting its potential as a treatment option [7]. Similarly, the Yishen Gushu Formula (YSGSF) demonstrated improvements in bone mineral density and a protective effect on bone cells, indicating its therapeutic benefits for postmenopausal osteoporosis [13].
Other studies focused on natural substances like hyperoside, which increased bone density in ovariectomized mice by reducing osteoclast differentiation, suggesting a link to estrogen receptors and signaling pathways that protect bone health [14]. Various traditional herbal formulas like Mijiao and Erzhi Wan were also shown to promote bone formation and alleviate osteoporosis symptoms in specific models. Collectively, these findings point toward a growing body of evidence supporting the use of certain supplements and herbal treatments as effective strategies for managing osteoporosis, though further research is necessary to confirm their efficacy in clinical settings.
Users report various improvements in their symptoms after using the supplement, particularly in relation to bone health and density. Many individuals have noted significant progress, often transitioning from osteoporosis to a healthier bone state such as osteopenia after an extended period of use. For instance, one user shared their journey of improvement after a year of using the product, while another noted normal bone density results after nine months, attributing this success to a combination of healthy lifestyle choices and the supplement itself (Read Review). Overall, the feedback suggests that with consistent use, users often experience enhanced strength and stability in their bones.
In addition to improvements in bone density, some users have mentioned relief from associated symptoms such as pain. One reviewer highlighted a marked reduction in upper back pain since starting their regimen, emphasizing the broader benefits beyond just bone density (Read Review). Another user praised the supplement for effectively supporting their osteopenia recovery, reinforcing the impressions that it can indeed facilitate better overall bone health when combined with other vitamins and proper care (Read Review). However, as with any supplement, individual results vary, and it is essential to consider personal circumstances and consult healthcare professionals when necessary.
Users report positive experiences when combining the supplement with other vitamins and minerals to enhance its effectiveness for osteoporosis management. Several reviewers specifically mentioned pairing the supplement with Vitamin D3 and K, as well as magnesium, which they believe significantly improves calcium absorption and overall bone health. One user highlighted that after taking the supplement alongside Vitamin D3 and K, their bone scans exhibited notable improvements (Read Review). Similarly, another user noted that this combination assisted in reversing their osteopenia and emphasized the well-absorbed nature of the plant-based calcium in the product (Read Review).
In addition, some users incorporate a balanced diet and exercise into their regimen, which they credit for their improvements in bone density and overall health. One reviewer mentioned a combination of exercises and maintaining a low-carb diet along with the supplement, resulting in their bones returning to normal after nine months (Read Review). Overall, while individual results may vary, user feedback suggests that combining this supplement with other supportive nutrients and healthy lifestyle choices may yield better outcomes in managing osteoporosis.
Users generally report positive outcomes with Bone Formulas for treating osteoporosis, particularly with regard to dosage. Many individuals seem to find a regimen involving the recommended daily intake effective. For example, one user mentions taking three capsules daily, which they found resulted in significant improvements over time, despite the pills being on the larger side, though still manageable (Read Review). Another user, who has been taking the supplement for over a year, noted that transitioning to a plant-based alternative helped their stomach issues while also contributing to improved bone density, indicating that finding the right formulation and dosage can be crucial for relief and health benefits (Read Review).
Moreover, several users emphasize the importance of pairing these supplements with additional vitamins like D3 and K2 for optimal absorption and effectiveness. One review states that taking the product with these vitamins significantly helped in reversing their osteopenia (Read Review). Overall, while individual experiences may vary, users predominantly advocate for consistent use of the supplement within suggested doses, often alongside other supportive vitamins, to achieve results in bone health and density.
