We studied the impact of iron treatment on dizziness experienced by a 42-year-old woman suffering from severe iron deficiency anemia due to menometrorrhagia. Throughout her hospital stay, she received blood transfusions and intravenous iron, which played a critical role in addressing her debilitating symptoms.

Remarkably, despite her initial critically low hemoglobin levels, she managed to remain hemodynamically stable. By the end of her treatment, her symptoms of fatigue and dizziness had resolved, allowing her to return to her normal activities before discharge. This case highlights an important connection between iron levels and dizziness, illustrating that replenishing iron can significantly alleviate dizzy spells linked to anemia.

Our findings underscore how crucial it is to address iron deficiency effectively, as it can prevent serious complications and improve overall quality of life for patients experiencing symptoms like dizziness.

Deferoxamine aids vestibular function
In this study, we set out to investigate how iron treatment, specifically using deferoxamine, could protect against dizziness caused by aminoglycoside antibiotics like gentamicin. To do this, we used a group of rats and divided them into three categories: those receiving only gentamicin, those treated with gentamicin and deferoxamine, and a control group that only received saline. This approach allowed us to carefully monitor the differences in vestibular function, which is closely linked to balance and dizziness.

We observed that rats treated solely with gentamicin began to show significant balance issues after just a couple of days. They had nearly complete damage to important sensory cells in their inner ear, leading to a dramatic loss of vestibular function. On the other hand, the groups receiving either saline or gentamicin with deferoxamine maintained their vestibular function throughout the study, showing much healthier inner ear structures.

This indicates that deferoxamine can effectively mitigate the dizziness associated with gentamicin-induced vestibulotoxicity. The findings suggest that using iron-chelating agents like deferoxamine may be beneficial for individuals at risk of inner ear damage from certain medications. Overall, we have compelling evidence that iron's role in protecting against ototoxicity is worth considering in clinical settings.

We observed a case involving an adolescent experiencing abnormal uterine bleeding and dizziness, which led to her being referred to the emergency department. During our examination, she was stable but showed signs of significant anaemia, with a haemoglobin level that was critically low.

To address her condition, she was given a blood transfusion and started on a regimen of oral oestradiol and iron supplementation. While iron is a common treatment for anaemia, it’s essential to note that we cannot definitively attribute her recovery from dizziness solely to the iron since it was part of a combined treatment approach alongside oestradiol.

After a couple of weeks of treatment, she was transitioned to a combination of oestradiol and progestin. Ultimately, the patient showed significant improvement without any further episodes of similar distress.

This case underscores the complexity of treating conditions like anaemia, where multiple factors and treatments are at play. While iron supplementation is vital, we need more data to clearly understand its specific impact on dizziness in adolescents.

I experienced very painful periods, constant fatigue, dizziness, and loss of consciousness. My ferritin was significantly low, so I ordered chelated iron. I initially planned to keep it for myself, but my friend, who was pregnant and needed it more, ended up taking it. I felt a marked improvement with no more dizziness or fatigue and my energy levels increased. I plan to repeat the ferritin test soon; compared to previous medications, this has been a fantastic result.

I’ve ordered this brand of iron for the second time! The capsules are convenient and I take them on an empty stomach with vitamin C for better absorption. After starting the iron, I felt stronger, fatigue lessened, hair fall stopped, and importantly, the dizziness disappeared. My ferritin and haemoglobin levels are now normal, which is very satisfying. Overall, I’m extremely pleased with this dietary supplement.

I felt like a zombie for ages, struggling with fatigue, low blood pressure, and severe dizziness. My ferritin level was shockingly low at 7. While waiting for my order, I tried iron from a nutrition store for three weeks. Now, my dizziness is gone, and my blood pressure has improved to a more normal level. My ferritin is currently at 35, and I’ll continue taking it. Highly recommend!

I struggled with low blood pressure and anaemia, which made mornings difficult and caused considerable dizziness. After consulting a friend about my ferritin levels, I switched from heme iron, which didn’t help, to this product. Although I’ve only recently started taking it, I’ve noticed my dizziness has disappeared, and my blood pressure is gradually improving. I recommend this to others facing similar issues.

My haemoglobin was critically low, and traditional iron supplements weren’t effective for me. I chose this product over others and it truly worked well. There were no side effects, and I noticed a remarkable improvement in my blood tests and well-being. The dizziness has passed and physical activity has become much easier. I take one tablet daily with food while avoiding tea and coffee as they hinder absorption. Highly recommend this iron supplement!

I raised my haemoglobin from 92 to 115 in under a month by taking one capsule daily. My dizziness, weakness, and headaches vanished almost immediately. The bisglycinate formula is well absorbed, and it doesn’t cause constipation. Besides, I take B vitamins alongside this iron for the best results. After three weeks, my haemoglobin levels significantly improved, and I’m feeling much better overall.

After a month of use, I’ve noticed a significant improvement in my dizziness during menstruation! The bleeding is no longer associated with my previous anaemia. Women suffering from anaemia and dizziness should consider this. I learned online that one should avoid taking iron with caffeine, as it interferes with absorption. As a regular coffee drinker, I initially didn’t notice effects. The price is high, but one tin lasts three months.
