It's the best! Since starting this probiotic supplement, I have noticed significant improvements in my digestive comfort and intestinal flora. In a recent randomized, double-blind study involving 49 patients with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), we explored the impact of multispecies probiotics, including Bifidobacterium lactis, on various IBS symptoms. Participants took probiotics or a placebo for four weeks.

We observed that 68% of the patients taking probiotics reported significant relief from symptoms like bloating, compared to just 37.5% in the placebo group. This suggests that Bifidobacterium lactis, along with other probiotics, can be quite beneficial in managing bloating and overall IBS symptoms.

We explored the effectiveness of various probiotic strains and combinations in treating bloating related to irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). This comprehensive analysis included data from 9,253 participants across 81 studies.

While some probiotics showed promise in alleviating abdominal bloating, the results indicated that only specific strains were effective. Among them, noteworthy probiotics included MTCC 5856 and CNCM I-3856.

Overall, the findings highlight that while probiotics can help some IBS symptoms, not all are effective for bloating, calling for more research to better understand these treatments.

Lactobacillus reduces bloating effectively
We investigated how Lactobacillus acidophilus affects bloating in patients following Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery. In a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, patients received either probiotic supplements or placebo for 90 days. While both groups experienced similar rates of small intestine bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), those in the probiotic group reported significantly less bloating. They also noted increased abdominal pain initially, but that decreased over time, along with more episodes of soft stools and nausea. Hence, probiotics effectively reduce bloating without impacting SIBO levels.
