We explored how evening primrose oil might affect blood clotting in rabbits fed a high-cholesterol diet. Using a group of 40 rabbits, we supplemented their diet for 6 weeks with evening primrose oil.

The results showed promising anti-thrombotic effects. Evening primrose oil reduced cholesterol levels and improved good HDL cholesterol. Additionally, it lessened platelet adhesion to the endothelium and decreased signs of vascular damage.

We looked at how evening primrose oil, rich in gamma-linolenic acid, might help patients with rheumatoid arthritis.
