Maartje completed the BSc Nutrition and Dietetics at the HAN in Nijmegen in 2014, and the Msc Health Food Innovation Management at the University of Maastricht in 2016. During her studies, she specialized in consumer behaviour and spent half a year at the Griffith University in Australia. In 2016 she started as scientist and project manager at NIZO in Ede, working on a wide range of clinical trials in the field of nutrition and Health. Since May 2021 she is working at Wageningen Food and Biobased Research (WFBR) in the Food, Health & Consumer Research group as a clinical trial researcher and project leader. At WFBR she started her PhD project in 2021, investigating the effect of nutrition on gut health.
