Lactobacillus

Lactobacillus aids ulcerative colitis treatment
We investigated a novel approach for treating ulcerative colitis using lactobacillus acidophilus-derived extracellular vesicles. This method involves encapsulating nanoparticles with siRNA that targets the inflammatory protein TNF-α.

After testing in a model, we found that this system effectively delivers the siRNA to the colon, helping to reduce inflammation and restore gut health. Additionally, it positively influences gut microbiota composition. Overall, our findings suggest this could be a promising treatment strategy for managing ulcerative colitis, though more research is needed to fully understand its effectiveness.

I drink one NATOOSHCHAK capsule in the morning, and during the day, there is no pain or swelling from my 30-year-old chronic colitis. It genuinely works! The enteric-soluble capsule is a significant advantage. Keep it in the refrigerator for longevity. Check expiry dates before ordering. I throw a capsule into milk in the evening and keep it warm. I also recommend having thick kefir in the morning. Wishing you good health.

Probiotics

Saccharomyces boulardii: Limited cancer reduction
We examined the effects of an engineered probiotic, Saccharomyces boulardii, on colitis-related cancer in a specific mouse model. Over 18 weeks, mice received either the modified probiotic, standard S. boulardii, or a placebo.

While the engineered strain showed promise in binding to inflamed tissue, it ultimately did not significantly lower cancer development linked to colitis. Our findings suggest that more enhancements are necessary to fully unlock its potential against tumorigenesis.

Boulardii was crucial for managing my activated ulcerative colitis, which Gr8-Dophilus alone couldn't handle. Two years ago, a combination of Boulardii, a gluten-free diet, and other products saved my colon from surgery. Unfortunately, my colon deteriorated again, preventing adequate good bacteria growth. Thankfully, Boulardii worked its magic once again.

Magnesium

We encountered a rare and intriguing case involving a 75-year-old woman who presented with impaired consciousness linked to hypermagnesemia—a significant increase in magnesium levels. The connection we observed was particularly striking, as this situation arose in the absence of magnesium supplementation, drawing our attention to the potential role of severe bowel dysfunction in increasing magnesium concentrations.

The patient exhibited symptoms like a distended abdomen, hypotension, and cognitive impairment, all pointing toward serious underlying issues. Through abdominal imaging, we found evidence of fecal impaction, leading to what is known as stercoral colitis. The elevated magnesium levels truly puzzled us, especially since there was no history of magnesium administration, prompting us to consider that severe bowel dysfunction could independently contribute to hypermagnesemia.

After treatment, including calcium administration and measures to address the fecal impaction, the patient's magnesium levels and consciousness improved. This case illustrates that magnesium levels can rise dangerously high with severe intestinal issues without direct magnesium intake, suggesting a complex interplay between the gut and electrolyte balance that merits further investigation.

Normalised blood pressure
Most Useful Review
This magnesium is incredibly effective! My husband has a consistent need for magnesium and tried many forms before finding this one. The results were immediate; his previously high blood pressure returned to normal, allowing us to reduce his dosage by half. Despite his tendency for loose stools and his ulcerative condition, he experienced no adverse effects. Though the tablets are substantial, they are easy to swallow, and I highly recommend this product.

Vitamins

Vitamin D3 shows comparable effects
We conducted a randomized controlled trial to investigate how vitamin D3 impacts children with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), specifically aiming to address vitamin D deficiency in those suffering from colitis.

The study compared two different treatment approaches: a low daily dose of 2000 IU of vitamin D3 and a one-time high dose of the 'stoss' therapy, where children received a significantly larger dose of 400,000 IU or 800,000 IU, depending on their age. Children in both treatment groups were monitored over 12 months for various health indicators, including 25OHD levels and clinical disease activity.

Our findings revealed that the stoss therapy was non-inferior to the daily dosing regimen in raising vitamin D levels over the study period. Importantly, there were no significant differences in vitamin D levels at any of the checkpoints—3, 6, 9, or 12 months.

This indicates that both supplementation methods can effectively address vitamin D deficiency in children with colitis. However, the study emphasizes the absence of any superior benefits from one treatment over the other.

This has been a revelation for my chronic colitis and stomach issues. After taking the super enzymes, I no longer experience heaviness or bloating. I consume them as needed, especially on holiday after overeating, and they work wonders. This is essential in my first aid kit.

Iron

Dietary iron aids intestinal recovery
We investigated the role of dietary iron in recovery from colitis, specifically focusing on its effects in weaned mice. The study involved two groups of mice fed different diets: one with a regular amount of iron and another enriched with significantly more iron. After two weeks on their respective diets, both groups were subjected to dextran sodium sulfate (DSS) treatment to induce colitis.

Throughout the recovery phase, we observed that the iron-enriched diet proved especially beneficial for the weaned mice. By day three of recovery, those on the iron diet showed less weight loss, shorter colon lengths, and less damage to intestinal structure compared to their counterparts. Iron not only promoted the vitality of intestinal stem cells but also helped maintain the integrity of the intestinal lining.

Furthermore, analyses of organoids revealed that the iron diet stimulated the expression of certain genes involved in differentiation and metabolism, which suggests a deeper mechanism at play. Overall, this study indicates that dietary iron may significantly enhance the repair of intestinal injuries and support the regeneration of healthy tissue following inflammation.

I bought this for my brother, who has ulcerative colitis and struggles with iron absorption. Most iron supplements upset his stomach or aren't absorbed well; however, this one is very effective. He experienced no side effects or nausea, and his energy levels improved after a few weeks. It's mild yet effective – I highly recommend it for anyone dealing with digestive issues or inflammatory bowel disease!

Works very well with my Colitis. I was diagnosed with Colitis and experienced soft stools almost every morning for a few months. This consistently provides the same good effect. I have a dose-dependent glutamate sensitivity and experience severe inflammation with fever due to unspecified inflammatory bowel disease. L-Glutamine helps alleviate these conditions. I take it twice daily if fever occurs, and it always calms my digestive system, aiding nitrogen transport.

The primary active component of turmeric is curcumin, linked with antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antitumour, and antidepressive properties. Incorporating curcumin into anti-Helicobacter pylori therapy enhances its effectiveness. Positive outcomes have been observed in utilising curcumin for ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease, offering therapeutic benefits for intestinal inflammation. Curcumin helps protect against pancreatic damage and aids in pancreatitis. Studies indicate that curcumin may prevent fatty liver disease and is effective for gallbladder ailments. Its anti-inflammatory characteristics are comparable to those of prednisone for arthritis. The combination of ginger and turmeric also shows beneficial effects in rheumatoid arthritis and related complications.

Fantastic product. I have used it for ten years as an anti-inflammatory and it has effectively replaced my anti-inflammatory drugs, which caused excessive side effects. This product is excellent for individuals suffering from IBS, Colitis, and Crohn's Disease. Through my studies, I've discovered it originates from the rainforest and is utilised for its anti-tumour, anti-fungal, and anti-inflammatory properties. I rate it highly due to the absence of fillers that many other products contain. Ten stars! It saved my life by enabling me to discontinue inflammatory medications.
