Probiotic improves IBS-C symptoms
We examined the effects of Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus IDCC 3201 on patients suffering from irritable bowel syndrome with constipation (IBS-C). In a robust study involving 30 participants, we used a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled design.

After eight weeks of treatment, the probiotic group reported significant improvements in bowel activities and discomfort linked to constipation. Notably, symptoms like abdominal bloating also improved.

Our findings suggest that this probiotic might help enhance gut health by promoting beneficial microbes and their metabolites.

Lactobacillus shows promise for constipation
We investigated the effects of a new microbial strain, LP-HFY11, on constipation caused by a common medication in mice. The results showed that LP-HFY11 helped maintain fecal weight and improved gut movement. Those given a high dose expelled stool faster than others treated with lactulose, although still slower than in normal mice.

Interestingly, LP-HFY11 also promoted positive changes in intestinal health and increased certain beneficial substances in the bloodstream, suggesting it could serve as an effective probiotic for constipation management. There appears to be promising potential for LP-HFY11's use in both the food and pharmaceutical industries.

Lactobacillus gasseri alleviates constipation symptoms
We conducted a comprehensive study to determine how Lactobacillus gasseri impacts chronic constipation. The clinical trial involved 40 women who were given either Lactobacillus gasseri or a placebo over a 28-day period.

Our findings revealed that this probiotic strain significantly reduced abdominal pain and suggested an increase in complete spontaneous bowel movements. While the results are promising, we did not observe a major breakthrough in bowel function improvement.

Overall, Lactobacillus gasseri may help relieve some symptoms associated with functional constipation.
