BLa80 shows promise for constipation
We explored the impact of Bifidobacterium lactis BLa80 on constipation using mice that were induced with functional constipation through loperamide treatment. In our study, we compared BLa80 to a blank group and a positive control.

The results indicated that BLa80 improved intestinal movement, increased fecal moisture, and balanced gut bacteria. It also helped regulate important gut hormones. Overall, BLa80 shows promise as a potential new option for relieving constipation in functional foods.

Bifidobacterium lactis alleviates constipation
We investigated the effects of Bifidobacterium lactis subsp. TG11 on loperamide-induced constipation in mice. The mice were grouped into control and treatment categories, receiving different doses of the probiotic.

After treatment, those receiving TG11 showed improved intestinal motility and maintained better fecal water content. Notably, the probiotic also positively affected gut microbiota, increasing beneficial bacteria and promoting short-chain fatty acid production.

Overall, Bifidobacterium lactis TG11 appears effective in alleviating constipation, potentially by enhancing gut health.

Bifidobacterium lactis improves constipation
We assessed the effectiveness of Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis XLTG11 in helping children with functional constipation through a well-structured study with a randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled design. The children were split into two groups: one received the probiotic treatment alongside conventional care, while the other did not.

Over the treatment period, we saw a consistent increase in bowel movements in the group taking the probiotic, showing higher fecal frequency compared to the control group. Additionally, the beneficial bacteria in their guts improved, which suggests that this treatment is a promising approach for managing constipation in children.

Lactobacillus improves IBS-C symptoms
We investigated how a cultured milk drink containing Lactobacillus acidophilus affects symptoms of constipation in individuals with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-C). Over 30 days, participants consumed the drink daily.

At the end of the study, an impressive 97.4% of IBS-C participants reported improvement in their constipation-related symptoms. We also noticed reductions in intestinal transit time and pro-inflammatory cytokines linked to IBS. Overall, this suggests that including this cultured milk drink may be a beneficial addition to IBS-C treatment plans.

Bifidobacterium lactis effective for constipation
We assessed how Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis BLa80 could help adults struggling with chronic constipation. In a multicentre, randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial involving 46 participants, we compared the effects of the probiotic against a placebo over 12 weeks.

Our findings revealed that those taking the probiotic experienced a significant improvement in stool consistency and a reduction in constipation symptoms. By weeks 8 and 12, their stool types shifted towards more normal classifications on the Bristol scale, while constipation rates increased in the placebo group.

This highlights the potential of Bifidobacterium lactis as a helpful solution for managing constipation.

Occasionally, I feel tired and have developed bacterial vaginosis along with cystitis. Despite this, my bowel movements have greatly improved since I started taking this supplement. I used to suffer from constipation, having only three bowel movements a week, but now I experience them almost daily. I hope it will also be effective for vaginitis, my primary concern.
