Alpha-lipoic acid protects mice against concanavalin A-induced hepatitis by modulating cytokine secretion and reducing reactive oxygen species generation.
We investigated whether alpha-lipoic acid (α-LA) could protect mice from hepatitis caused by concanavalin A (Con A). Mice received α-LA prior to Con A injection, with results showing significant reductions in liver damage and inflammation markers. The treatment lowered levels of harmful cytokines and boosted protective antioxidants in the liver. It seems α-LA works by fine-tuning immune responses and minimizing stress within liver cells. Overall, our findings suggest α-LA has a notable protective effect against autoimmune hepatitis, making it a potential option for further research in liver health.

Alpha Lipoic Acid is a staple in my routine. It aids in hepatitis treatment, especially for hepatitis C! From the start, I noticed its positive impact on patients and my heart’s health—diagnosis of coronary heart disease improved dramatically. My liver feels revitalised! Improvement in thyroid function began within days, hormonal imbalance corrected by day three. It supports kidney health, reducing dark circles and swelling. We explored the potential of intravenous silibinin, a milk thistle extract, in treating an HIV-HCV coinfected patient who didn't respond to standard therapy. After just two weeks of silibinin treatment, both HCV and HIV levels became undetectable.
While silibinin appeared promising, leading to a trend of increased CD4+ cells, the follow-up showed that HIV levels returned to their previous state after stopping additional therapy.
These findings suggest that while silibinin may help some, more research is needed to understand its benefits fully.

These vitamins are fantastic! I began taking them on my endocrinologist's advice during hepatitis B when my ferritin levels were critically low at 9. I couldn't initiate iron treatments then, and shortly after, I found out I was pregnant again. Incredibly, within months, my ferritin soared to 44, and folic acid reached 18 without any additional supplements! My favourite vitamins! I took these excellent prenatal vitamins for the first time during my last pregnancy. I forgot about them after birth until my body was severely depleted due to hepatitis B. My strength was low, and my skin was dry. A half-finished jar reminded me of them. After taking them for just a week, I noticed clear improvements. My skin improved, and my strength increased. This pregnancy was much different; my blood pressure remained stable, and my hemoglobin levels were normal. After giving birth, I continued taking them while breastfeeding, and my hemoglobin stayed normal even months later. Highly recommended!
