Not all Ester-C is the same, unfortunately. They vary as to style of pill, size of pill, amount of citrus flavonoids, and this can be confusing to buyers seeking specifics in these product subcategories. After careful review of all the Ester-C products on Amazon.....I ordered this product, a two-pack of 120 capsules per bottle, 500mg per capsule. Excellent product here. Esther-C supplements have become a bit if a troubling thing to chase after in recent years. They are hard to find locally in this city of 1 million where I live, and when I do find them, they are invariably large tablets and over priced. This particular product is different, and in a good way: 1) Great price - 240 500 mg doses for just under 20 dollars 2) This particular product is CAPSULES, not tablets, making them much easier to swallow 3) This particular product has twice the typical dose of citrus flavonaoids (200mg per 500 mg of Ester C), which are an important part of the Ester-C brand. Others typically have 200mg per 1000mg of Ester-C, or LESS The photos for this product are excellent with one exception to be aware of ---> The labeling makes it look on first glance as a mixup of photos between 500 mg and 1000 mg. This is because this is a two pack (two bottles) shrink packed together, with an outer label recommending 1000mg per day (ie: two capsules). Nothing nefarious at all, just a tiny bit confusing when trying to determine the amount of citrus flavonoids per dose. I don't want to ding the product or the merchant for this, just noting it for others who are trying to read the labels in the photos

Helps reduce back and joint pains

I take 1000 mg (1 gram) of this product twice per day. How much you may need may vary according to your weight and other factors. I am a male who weighs 185 pounds. The 500mg capsules are the best value. I do not recommend the caplets/tablets, as I have not had as good of results with them. I began taking Ester-C after reading articles about how it was used to help improve the lives of large breed dogs that had hip dysplasia problems. At the time I was suffering from a lot of lower back pain, and I did not want to take typical OTC pain relievers. I found that it takes 2-3 weeks for this product to begin to alleviate pain. For me, it truly has reduced pain! I have also learned from my experience, that if you discontinue the use of the Ester-C, the pain returns in about 2-3 weeks. So, it apparently has some residual qualities. If you take too much it will cause the runs, so be forewarned! While I primarily take Ester-C for back pain, it does also help with hip and other joint pains. My primary, go to, supplement for arthritic joint pains is Boswellia Extract (I use Nature's Answer brand). Taking the Ester-C and the Boswellia Extact in combination leaves me feeling as nimble as someone much younger than my 55 years old. I am hoping to avoid the pain and mobility issues that are now crippling my aging father. So, I will continue to take and recommend these products. I believe that Ester-C has many other health benefits, but the pain relief is the most noteworthy one IMHO. I have experience zero negatives, other than it can cause the runs (as mentioned previously). I recommended it to my sister, and it has helped reduce her joint pains too

Easy to swallow, Easy on your stomach, Easy on your wallet!

Having just ordered my fourth bottle of Ester-C 500 mg. w/Citrus Bioflavonoids capsules, I thought it was time to add my opinion as a non-medical professional. We all know that the human body cannot manufacture its own Vitamin C. Generally speaking, our bodies need a new supply of C every day, either from food sources or from a product supplement. What is NOT as universally known is that most people cannot absorb more than 500 milligrams of C in a single dose. With that in mind, to obtain my normal supply of 1,000 milligrams of C per day, I'll take one 500 mg. capsule in the morning and another one in the evening. You can buy this same brand in strengths of 1000 mg./capsule, but I prefer to take it in the divided dose I just described. Additionally, along with my morning Ester-C, I take the following individual vitamin supplements: Jarrow B-Right (B-complex), 10,000 IU Beta Carotene (Vitamin A), and a 100 mg. capsule of d-alpha tocopherol (Vitamin E) for optimum functioning under the heavy stress-load I face almost every day of the week. (Don't we ALL?!) My "stress-busting" formula is a compilation based upon writings by Dr. Weil, Dr. Oz, and from reputable health blogs. Only you can determine what's best for your body. My experience tells me this is working: I haven't contracted the flu, a viral infection, or even the common cold in nearly 3 and 1/2 years! In my opinion, American Health is a trusted brand, this product is reasonably priced, and Amazon's delivery service is unmatched

Best Vitamin C you can buy. Best everything about it!

Best Vitamin C you can buy. This size, 500 mg, are easier to swallow than the larger 1000 for me, and the capsules make it even easier. I had the long tablets but these don't stick in my throat. They are a bit more expensive but worth it when you consider you are getting 250 caps per bottle. I ONLY take Ester C but this will be my go-to from now on

Best Vitamin C!

My essential vitamin! I take it once in the morning and once before going to bed and I should have done it a long time ago. I was sick with colds that would not go away for a month, but after taking Ester -C, i finally got well 3 days later. Now it is a habit and will surely buy again. The best Vitamin C in the market

Ester C is a standard bearer

The vitamins arrived on time in good order just as advertised. Each capsule has 500mg of Vit C. I cannot deduce whether or not these vitamins or Vit C in general, is going to be beneficial for me. At some point, we have to trust some companies that manufacture or distribute supplements. I would expect and hope that the Ester C Company would not license their formula to a manufacturer that did not undertake the highest standards of quality control. As I say, I would hope..

No stomach sensitivity

Our family's healthcare providers have recommended we take at least 1000 mg of Vitamin C each day and also suggest that we double or triple that amount during cold/flu season. I've noticed that members of our family rarely get sick since beginning the higher intake of Vitamin C a few years ago. Taking that many milligrams of regular Vitamin C tends to cause stomach and intestinal issues. This Ester-C is formulated so that it isn't a problem. Although the capsules are fairly large, they're easy to swallow...unlike the tablets

Compares to more expensive brands

Using this product for years now and the quality is as good now as it ever was. Comparable effectiveness to much more expensive brands. This stuff will knock a cold out of your system in 2 days (used 2 caps a day combined with 1000 iu vitamin E and 50 mg zinc). Non acidic formula: if you have acid reflux (like me) and have trouble with standard vitamin c, this product dose not irritate my stomach at all

Ester C simply the best supplement

I have been taking Ester C for years. It is better than regular Vitamin C, because it doesn't upset your stomach. I prefer capsules because they dissolve faster in your system. We all know Vitamin C is essential for your immune system, but there are other benefits to using Ester C. Years ago, we had a puppy that was part Flat Coat Retriever & part German Shepherd. When she was about 5-6 months old, if she was running & playing hard outside, then next day she would be limping. I talked to the owner of the parents & he told me the father, a huge 125 lb shepherd acted they same way when he was growing...bones growing faster than the muscles...lol...told me to introduce her to Ester C increasing the dosage til you see a change in her stool, then back off. It worked like a dream. She never had a problem after that

COMPLETE, POTENT, AND EFFECTIVE

This vitamin C has everything--the full spectrum of nutrients formulated for maximum absorption and useable potency. The caplets are easy to swallow, and it's part of my daily nutrition routine. Vitamin C is water-soluble, and the body cannot store or manufacture it. Unless you eat a lot of citrus fruits, etc. on a daily basis, you probably aren't getting as much vitamin C as you need to build up your immune system, and nourish and strengthen your body's vital systems (circulatory, vascular, cellular, etc.). This is an easy way to address this matter with the most bang for your buck
