Bifidobacterium lactis alleviates constipation
We investigated the effects of Bifidobacterium lactis subsp. TG11 on loperamide-induced constipation in mice. The mice were grouped into control and treatment categories, receiving different doses of the probiotic.

After treatment, those receiving TG11 showed improved intestinal motility and maintained better fecal water content. Notably, the probiotic also positively affected gut microbiota, increasing beneficial bacteria and promoting short-chain fatty acid production.

Excellent! I became addicted to the keto diet, but it caused constipation. To improve my bowel function, I purchased these probiotics. I’ve been taking them for three weeks, and while the results weren't immediate, my bowel movements have improved significantly. I will continue to monitor my progress.

The benefits of this quality probiotic on my health have been outstanding. It has reduced constipation and gut bloating by improving my digestion. I found it works best taken either at night before bed or in the morning. I highly recommend it!

Alongside these probiotics, I also ordered a women's variant. After starting these, I encountered constipation issues, likely due to the iron content. After a few days, I switched to the women's ones and saw immediate relief. It's disappointing considering the price.

Probiotics ineffective for constipation
We conducted a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial involving 94 children under 5, all suffering from functional constipation. Participants received either Lactobacillus rhamnosus or a placebo for four weeks. While we observed some increase in bowel movements in both groups throughout the study, Lcr35 did not show significant effectiveness compared to the placebo. Overall, our findings suggest that using this specific probiotic alone is not an effective treatment for constipation in young children. It reinforces existing guidelines against probiotics for this issue.
We evaluated the impact of two probiotic formulations on functional constipation in adults. This study involved 30 days of daily consumption of oral sachets containing various strains of Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium.

While participants experienced improvements in stool frequency and quality, the differences between the treatment groups were not statistically significant. An isolated case of abdominal pain was the only adverse event noted. Overall, these probiotics showed potential but did not produce noteworthy differences across groups.
Our pilot study focused on how Lactobacillus rhamnosus, a probiotic, affects gastrointestinal side effects in children undergoing chemotherapy for acute leukemia. We randomly assigned young patients to either receive probiotics twice daily or not, and tracked common gastrointestinal issues like nausea and constipation.

The findings were promising; we observed a notable reduction in several side effects, including significant decreases in nausea, vomiting, and abdominal distension in those taking the probiotics. Overall, daily probiotic supplementation appeared to support children by lessening discomfort during chemotherapy.
